Why isn't Choice playing

okay....someone explain why....the guy is more talented than barber and barber always falls down and loses his feet from under him...choice not playing is just plain stupid!

I will answer again.

Either he has done something to put himself deep in the doghouse .....

Or he is just not that good.

The idea that someone would start YET ANOTHER thread about Barber and Choice and act like it's a new line of thought is what's idiotic.

C'mon dawg...that aint right yo.

I'll give it a shot. He can't block.

I suspect it is the following reasons:

1. He can't block very well in pass protection. From what I have seen, he isn't very good at it.
2. Coaches/Jerruh think Barber is a critical 'team leader' and want him on the field. And obviously, he is a better blocker than Choice.
3. Coaches think Choice is more prone to turn the ball over.

I don't think he is in the dog house....just doesn't seem like something Garrett would do. In terms of pure running ability, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Choice is better than Barber.

I would play Choice more, but I guess reasons 1-3 are important drivers for Jerruh and Garrett.

You know I think the problem is the thread lifespan around here is that of a mayfly. It'd be an undertaking to change learned community behavior, but forcing thread merges and closing repetitive threads might make it better. Then again, while flawed, there is alot of participation here, so do we want to mess alot with a good thing?

because he is #3 and he is #3 for a reason.....and #1 and #2 gets the carries and #3 gets on field when necessary not just to please a pissed off fan

youve only seen him a little here and there...the coaches see him everyday in practice

I feel I've seen this thread before, every week.

1) The coaches play the guys who earn the playing time in practice.
2) Choice is not as good as you think.

Choice is a passionate dude, and I like his fire. You know who else is a fiery player who works hard? Sam Hurd. The difference is Hurd knows he isn't going to be more PT and he doesn't talk to the media constantly about how he wants it.

Football stupid. Choice can't play on his emotions alone. He believes 'give me the ball and I'll make something happen. All that other football stuff is overrated'. There is a method to the football madness, Mr. Choice

Or run as well as Barber or Jones.

how can u say choice isnt better than barber....barber falls down everytime he runs on his own....he loses his footing....does anyone else realize this?

I suspect others are right. He doesn't block well enough and they don't see him as a better runner than Barber. Having said that I suspect this is Barber's last year here only due to money reasons.

Barber 3.3 YPC. Choice 2.7 YPC. Yes, I know he's only gotten 11 carries this season and that's not enough to make things happen. Yes, I know the O-Line doesn't run block great.

That still doesn't change the fact that it's not like Choice is going Barry Sanders mode out there with every touch he gets like some people act like he has.

Forget in 2008 when he started some games. The coaches decisions now are based on what they see every day in practice and the film room.

Maybe Choice is tweeting about praying for playing time instead of studying film too much. :laugh2:

Because the organization gets a laugh out of finding starters like Doug Free and Miles Austin when players get hurt.
