Why isn't Ezekiel Elliot in prison?

Ok. Ignore the process and say that the process is fine if you want. I am really interested in seeing how this turns out.

The NFL may win this, but the NFL is playing with fire based on ego. The NFL has a lot more to lose than Zeke does. I keep saying that. It's a huge risk by the NFL. Huge.

If the NFL wins Zeke gets 6 games. If The NFLPA wins, the NFL loses it kangaroo court. It's a poor tactical choice by the NFL.

The league has the best lawyers you can buy, and they're telling them it's a rock solid case. Because it is.

The NFL is operating under the belief, rightfully so, that they cannot lose this case. And why wouldn't they? The precedent from the Brady case alone is incredibly powerful. Remember, he wasn't suspended for deflating balls. He was suspended for deleting a handful of text messages off his private phone and not giving them to the NFL. Something the league had no legal right to obtain, yet the courts deemed the suspension completely legitimate under the CBA. Why? BECAUSE THEY CAN SUSPEND FOR ANYTHING THEY WANT.

They suspended Tom Brady out of spite, and a very high court laughed at Brady for protesting. Think about that.

THAT SLUT!!!!!

HANG HER UP AND MAKE HER SORRY!!!!!!!

LET ZEKE BE FAMOUS!!!!!!!

I have no idea if she's a slut, she could be a virgin for all I know.

I can prove she's a liar however. I can prove it using her own words.

And Zeke may very well have hit her and set the stage for her to lie about other supposed incidents, and if that's the case shame on him and he deserves this. That has no legal bearing on the case or this thread however.

But there is no LEGAL REQUIREMENT for "good faith" here. The only way this gets voided is if somehow Zeke proves the league suspended him without going about it the way outlined in the CBA. The league either did so or covered up their collusion so well we probably won't ever know.

That's at least debatable.

That there's no evidence of league collusion?

The worst they did is ignore an investigators recommendation, something that doesn't violate the due processes outlined in the CBA. Other than that I've seen nothing remotely illicit about the process.

Here's what I don't understand..

if this accuser is wrong..

why is Zeke not suing her?

If the abuse was real..then you don't.

So far Zeke hasn't.

What difference does it make now with the suspension moving forward.

Nobody would criticize Zeke for taking a more aggressive position.

Nothing in the NFLPA agreement would prohibit it.

Things like domestic violence, child molestation, and rape are probably 3 of the worst crimes one can be accused of. Because they are probably 3 crimes where the "victim" is put on a pedestal more than other crimes and it is hard to beat the "virtue" tinted glasses. Probably as far as this should go before entering into the benching gray area.

Innocent in a court of law.

Guilty in the court of public opinion.

This thought process sounds far too familiar involving an ex running back of the NFL tried for murder, that actually won his criminal suit only to open a door to a huge civil suit he then lost.

Hope this doesn't open the door for her to sue him after the NFL is done branding him a woman beater.

I see where you are going, but unlike the OJ civil trial the direct victim would have to take the stand (she's alive). That wouldn't be good, for her or the NFL.

edit: and unlike NFL arbitration, the courts can legally compell all testimony (Tompson, Friel, Goodell, foresnic experts, etc.) to testify. Not good.

My problem is this, there was NOT even a charge. He didn't have a day in court, because it was not even brought to court. This is crazy

OJ was sued for wrongful death and a significant amount of evidence existed that he did in fact kill Nicole and Rob. He was acquitted in criminal court essentially on a technicality, but in civil court the standards of evidence and proof are significantly less.

I'm not entirely sure what grounds Elliott would be sued on, but moreover I don't think his accuser wants to take the stand (which she'd be required to do) and open herself up to public discussion of her lies and collusion with friends. She'd basically be forced to acknowledge that she made up huge portions on her allegation or face complete dismissal of her suit.

So yes, she could sue but I doubt she would. She'd have to convince a jury that she's only lying about SOME aspects of the alleged crimes.

1. Does the NFL have better investigators than the police?

2. If so, why isn't ezekiel Elliot charged?

Why don't people go to jail for violating their company's policy on dress code? Wearing "semi-casual" in a professional environment will never be okay. This madness has to stop.

Better yet..

Lets have one of those old fashion stonings where we all get to throw a rock at her.

I'd feel better.

Unfortunately..

Zeke is learning early what can happen with those situations where you don't know somebody well.

I'd be interested in how and where he met her.

At a bar, duh!
And we quickly pass judgment on her being at a bar.
But we give the man a pass. In many things, lad.
I am not complaining the ways of our society, just comparing the ways we view men and we women. What was she wearing when he (a composite, not St. Zeke) hit her? Did she deserve to be hit? Multiple times. Was she drinking? Did she put herself in a dangerous position, hence, deserved the beating. Because a woman needs guidance by a man, after all.
