Why Jack will be the pick...

Let me begin by saying my strong preference is Wentz or Goff because I don't think we get another chance to draft in the top 5 and get a franchise QB to replace Romo... but I think Jack will be the pick. Having watched his highlights, he is an exceptional athlete and has great instincts and coverage ability in the passing game. In today's NFL, it is a huge advantage to not have to take a LB off the field and go nickel/dime. Jack is a 3 down LB. He is the best cover LB I've seen on tape. He covers better than most DBs and with him on one side of the slot and Scandrick on the other, the middle of the field will be taken care of. While I do not like drafting a LB that high, he is a special player and if you believe in building from the interior out (QB, C, DT, MLB), you can leave Lee at WLB and put him at MLB and just let him run to the ball and cover the middle of the field. If we draft for impact this year, he will be the pick...

Which of these QBs has the beset career?
He doesn't know... Nor do you or I..... Anyone else with Jones as a last name..... Or Garrett or McClay

It's a damn crap shoot.... 6% odds of winning a SB in last 20yrs

Fact is, no one knows SQUAT cause none of those QB has seen a damn game snap, much less a season or 2..... Could be HOF or complete BUST-as the % STATE

All I have to say is if you think a franchise QB is available when you pick and you don't take him, you're risking the next ten to fifteen years of success.....although it will then be likely that you'll get another shot at one in a few years since you'll probably be drafting in the top ten again.

I don't see any QB that is top 5 talent but for some reason Wentz fans want to reach no matter what.

That being said doesn't matter what we think the rankings are it matters what the Cowboys think the rankings are. If a QB is at the top they take him, if it's a defensive player they take him. You can always look back and say we could have had a certain player but don't mean jack cause we didn't pick them.

We took Smith over Watt, took Felix over Charles. .....guess what none of those teams including Dallas has won a superbowl with any of those players picked

Im against drafting a QB at 4 but have said many times if Wentz or whoever is best available take him and I think that's where most guys not on QB bandwagon sit.

We are saying don't over reach on QB and take best player available. The QB guys say only draft Wentz or its a failure haha

I keep seeing where lots of fans are saying this may be the last time we pick in the top five in sometime. With the way this league is its very possible the cowboys could be picking in the top 5 again next year. The browns rams jags and other team have been picking in the top five for the last five years or more. Its not like we are this great top team over the last twenty years.

Here are some reasons he will absolutely not be the pick:
1) injury - the recovery from his injury is more difficult than an MCL or ACL. It's an unknown how he will be in camp.
2) position - he is not stout enough to play MLB which means he is limited to WLB. LB is not as valued as QB, OT, DE, CB so they will not spend a top 5 pick on him.
3) stats- his stats are not that of Kuechly; in fact, they are pedestrian. Kuechly went #10 and was as sure a pick as there is.

Since when is a torn meniscus a more difficult injury to recover from than ligament damage such as the mcl or acl???

Do some research. Google MCL vs meniscus. Ligament surgery and recovery are exceptional. Think Gurley or Peterson.

I like goff and wentz but I feel we have bigger concerns. If Romo was healthy we'd won the division. I think we sign rg3 and draft someone in the 4th. You saw again a fantastic defense won the super bowl even if osweiler woulda played

So you'd prefer to have a prospect that you desire to have torn his acl/mcl rather than to have torn his meniscus??? I'm sure you'd be the only one .

Yeah me and Brown University and current medical research:
In all, there is around a 20% failure rate of the meniscus healing in which case a second surgery would be performed. (15) In addition to this, it's been found that an isolated meniscal repair doesn't really show good results in athletes and does not prevent increasing osteoarthritic changes in athletes.

Generally a meniscus tear if non complicated like Jack is a surgery to clean it up or repair and 4-6 weeks rehab, Jack had this and is already lifting, running and weight training as we speak.

Just go to his twitter, he has current training vids as proof.

He will be ready for the combine, the ACl tear you are generally looking at 6-8 months depending on the person and case.

Jack is good to go and thus far his knee has checked out fine according to his camp.
