Why Jerry, why?

Oh really, and how did Jason Garret work out, oh wise mr patience?

It also sounds like you are old enough to know the definition of stupid. MM did not coach the team up. His team was sloppy, unmotivated, and error prone......leading the NFL in penalties. You need to see that again ? The 12-5 record was dressed up by 6 wins in the NFC Least. In reality, the team is mediocre going 6-6 against the rest of the league.
By keeping the current staff and giving Quinn and McClay extensions it gives them a chance to build off of the 12 and 5 season and possibly advance farther next season. You should be thrilled that they were able to keep Quinn. He will help them sign players that probably would have gone with him to Denver. We caught a huge break when Quinn didn't go to Denver. If Rodgers goes to Denver it will be a perfect storm. It was also huge that the Cowboys were able to keep McClay. Jerry is off to a great start this offseason. The why that you ask is very clear. Keeping the staff intact gives the Cowboys the best shot at winning. They have a good shot at winning the division again and could very well advance in the playoffs. As bad as they played against the 49ers, they still only lost by 6 points and were only a play or 2 away from pulling that game out.

and all those fancy stats amounted to nothing more than a paper tiger............which explains what we saw against SF.

I don't think Jerry cares about the kind of tiger he owns. I think all that matters is that during the national broadcasts the announcers were talking up the great dallas cowboys based on those fancy stats.

I'm happy with Quinn b/c he lead the defense to a huge turn around.

But to make no changes at all and accept the sloppy penalty ridden football is wasting the talent base on this team. In spite of the 12-5 record, the team was only 6-6 outside of the division. Close doesn't count. The NFL is a year to year league unless you have Tom Brady. What we did this season will only impact next season in regard to the schedule. Our puffed up record only gets us a tougher schedule in 2022.

Why in the world would you bring back the same staff after leading the league in penalties and losing the playoff game at home to a 10-7 team????......... A SF offense lead by a wr playing rb and a Qb who rarely breaks 200 yards passing. Have the Jones boys seriously convinced themselves the officiating cost them the game while forgetting the team entered the 4th Quarter trailng 23-7?.

Simple, because in the second year at the helm, MM has still accomplished more good than bad with the direction the team is going.

Yeah, lets hire a head coach with a bad football team (which I think everyone can agree with is what the Cowboys were), turn them around and then get pissed off because he doesn't win his first playoff game in the second season.

No better than Philly fans screaming for Reids head when he had a dilapidated roster and he was on the losing side. Where is Reid at now? Instead of screaming for the HC's job, with the Cowboys, it's the ownership that causes the cancer IMO.

Its amazing to me how much deference Jerry gets from media. Nobody talks about the last 25 years of futility and mismanagement.

He accomplished nothing. Its the same team as 2020 but with a better defense (Thanx to quinn and micah parsons) and Dak for 17 games. The offense was up and down, and faded against anyone good as the year went on. They were anything but consistent, and thats supposed to be his forte'. We lead the league in penalties which is a hallmark of poor coaching, and went 6-6 outside our putrid division.

To bring back the same cast of coaches who couldn't get it done this year and expect better results fits the definition of insanity. This "oh, we did so well this year and came so close to winning a playoff game" mentality is absurd.

The only way this makes sense is if Sean Payton wasn't coming no matter what Jerry offered. Don't be looking for an improvement on 12-5 next year.

Thank God you're not the GM/Owner. You would've moved on from Jimmy after a disappointing 7-9 second season.

The schedule does not look tough. It looks like they have an excellent chance of winning the division again and maybe moving forward, Getting Quinn back is huge.

When you lead the league in pre snap penalties that ain't the refs. Any fool can see those fouls. 7 of the 14 vs San Fran were pre snap. That's just stupidity.

But this team is full of excuses and it's rubbed off on some fans.

agree with the pre snap and defensive line penalties that were blatant…..my issue has always been the subjective phantom penalties that could be called on both teams…..but seem to go against us with more frequency
