ESPN is reporting that Josh McDaniels of New England is the leading candidate for the Broncos job. What has past coaches of the Bill Belichek staff done to warrant future staff interest. Coaches that have recently been fired from that tree Romeo Crennel, Eric Mangini(rehired) and the most popular Charlie Weis he's really done a bang up job at ND.

I think McDaniels has done a fine job!

He did an outstanding job.

He took a player who had not started since high school and the Patriots were able to not only win eleven games with him after Brady went down but also have a dangerous passing game at times. That was remarkable.

Exactly. Not to mention the Pats offense last year. Belichick has full control over his team, but everyone knows defense is his forte.

No coordinator from NE has ever had that type of success.

Amazing how a decent coordinator can adjust an offense once the starting QB goes down.

Seriously? Cant we drop that topic for just one thread?

No, not at all when it's a logical extension of the thread. It's a thread about a coordinator who's interviewing for a job one of our coordinators is. The question was why him, and the answer was his ability to adjust his offense and succeed, which has been a major criticism of our coordinator.

If they are able to choose between the two, I have no idea why they'd ever choose Garrett.

I think we can all admit McDaniels is a better coordinator than Garrett. Dont know anyone who would want to argue otherwise.

To me, it just seems like you're taking every opportunity to slam Garrett.

Could be wrong though.

whether he is or not he should be slammed for failing this season with more offensive weapons than any other team.

I reported it two days ago.

ESPN gets all the credit.

Yeah but not at every opportunity available. We get it.

And IMO McDaniels has more to work with. Moss is the most gifted receiver in a game, and a QB can throw up a jump ball for him to go get. When you add to that the best underneath receiver in the game, you have two receivers that are better than what we have in Dallas.

That, and according to you and many, Garrett didnt run the ball, which McDaniels did.

I'm not giving Garrett a pass either, as he does have more than the majority of teams. I do not think the Pats are one of them however.

McDaniels is a candidate because he has proven himself. He started doing nothing but piecing together video for Belichick. He's done what most of the Patriot assistants on offense have done. He's worked for it and earned it.

Garrett on the other hand has taken a much less different route and does not even have the track record.

A pure football post. No drama, no emotional upheaval, just exact ways in which the game of football works at the coaching level with honesty.

These are rare. Cherish it all who read this.

The Pats only had 57 penalties on offense, fewest in the league.

Dallas had 119, most in the league.

That just depresses me.
