Its actually pretty common for an incoming new coach to keep a couple members of the old staff

People don't seem to understand the NFL is the highest level of football and quality coaches/coordinators don't grow on trees. Sometimes it's best to keep a coach or two in-house that is familiar.

Plus Moore is young, he has a lot of interest from other teams for good reason.

MM admired the Cowboys offense. Yes, some of it was garbage time stats, but DAL did finish one of the top offenses. So, yeah, keep the kid.

The only reason to keep Kellen Moore is that Big Mike wants to keep him. He has already admitted he likes Kellen's play designs and coincidently used one in a video before he accepted the Cowboys coaching job to show how innovative it is.
