Why new Cowboys running back Trey Williams cried when he got the call

Trey Williams was shopping for a suit at a nearby mall with his Washington teammate Jamison Crowder Tuesday night when he got the call.

The Cowboys, his favorite team as a kid, wanted to pluck him off the Washington practice team and fly to Dallas immediately.

The running back's agent then put Williams' mother on the phone and both cried.

"J was like, 'you alright, bro, you good?'

"I'm good,'' Williams told him. "I was losing my mind.''

Williams played his college ball at Texas A&M, meaning he will be reunited with Christine Michael, who he said is "like my brother.'' He rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown in the preseason with Washington and landed a spot on their practice squad.
