Why no Escobar?

Guys usually make their biggest jump between year one and two. He didnt improve much. Now year three where according to an old coach "you are what your record says you are:. That would make him an occasional red zone threat and sometimes mismatch. Doubtful he is any kind of primary target here. I agree those criticising that Philly fumble. That was Shameful.

Guy cant improve when Jerra is fixiated on Witten, even with 2 ankle problems.

he really is WR who isn't that fast but has good hands and reach. That kind of limits ways to use him. I don't see him as TE because of his lack of physicality

I blame Obama for all our woes!!

Especially knowing Witten will play even with two broken legs.

Are you really propping Witten as a strong runner?

The guy who ran out of bounds instead of getting hit by Jim Leonard.

Witten is a great TE but a strong YAC guy he is not, he is consistently stopped in his tracks by DB's

Like somebody I used to know said, he runs with the ball like his feet hurt.

Huh? What does Witt's YAC has to do with what I posted? I'm saying the guy will play even with a 2 broken legs.

That is what the TE position has become around the league. The days of TEs being primarily inline blockers have passed. There is a reason Witten is still considered a great player around the league, he's one of the last guys who does it all at the position. Cowboys inability to utilize Escobar is their fault, not his. He should run, not walk to free agency when his card is up. Another team will make good use of him. I'm not saying Escobar is gonna leave here and become a Pro Bowl player like Martellus Bennett, but Escobar is at least a starting TE in this league.
