Why not Derrick Brooks LB?

What makes you say that? Just curious because he has been very good in coverage his entire career. Since 2001 (when the stats start) he has 60 passes defensed, including 7 last year. Ray Lewis is comparable with 62 in that same span and had 9 last season.

I think the real issue is that at 36 Brooks is done but to say that he "can't cover at all" is an un-educated opinion.

You are making my point. He is 36 years old. The intent of his signing would be to replace Carp - nickel backer. The 36 year old linebacker would have to cover TE's and RB's. I don't think Brooks can cover anymore.
