Hasn't Haynesworth always been known as somewhat of an underachiever?

Remember this was a contract year for him...

Bingo.

Haynesworth was an underachiever at the U. of Tennessee and continued this with the Titans. Add to that, the suspension.

Then, the contract year comes along and Fat Albert decides, "Hey, Hey, Hey," I smell money.

This guy will break some team's heart.

We have THREE players that can play NT and play it WELL.

What the hell are you smoking?

Of course I'd rather see Ratliff at LE (STARTING) and Fergie manning the middle with Tank backing him up, but we don't "need" a NT.
I'll take quality depth over a big name starter any day.

I hate to use the Giants as an example but look at their interior linemen: Cofield (Joseph), Robbins (Alford). Any combination of those four guys comes in and they don't have a significant dropoff in production.

Pass.

Not true. Haynesworth IS a difference maker. The issus isn't if he is a difference maker, it's if he wants to be a difference maker.

Don't forget Justin Tuck. While he is a DE, the Giants use him as a DT when both Strahan and Umenyiora are playing DE.

Personally, I think Justin Tuck is their second best lineman behind Strahan. Umenyiora can pass rush, bit isn't the best run stopper. Tuck is a beast and is just getting better. There won't be a huge dropoff when Tuck replaces Strahan except the fact that they won't have all three on the field at one time anymore.

Well, nobody is going to want to hear this but if you want a NT that can bring pressure right up the gut, Shaun Rodgers is probably the guy that is available and can do this best. I mean, yeah, he only plays in a limited capacity. Yeah, he has issues with motivation but the production is still there. Last year, he had 7 Sacks playing only part time, so to speak.

If that guy had any inkling of motivation, he would be an unstoppable force...

don't compare this to TO standing on the star, TO never physically tried to seriously hurt another player

The Andre thing aside, which was bad enough, there is a BIG reason you don't go with him. He's had just this one season where he's been really dominate. This year. Why is that? It's a contract year. He reminds me of Shaun Rogers in detriot in the fact that he only plays when his contract is on the line. Otherwise he's very average.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I imagine this will be mute anyway as they should put the franchise tag on him.
