....with all this talk nonsense occurring, which is actually making Dak look bad.

Jerry should button his pants all the way up and announce no contract will be made until end of year.

..your thoughts?

This is making the Joneses look bad. They did virtually nothing in free agency putting away all this money and they still can’t get any of their top players signed.

Because Jerry is probably happy to sign Dak if he accepts a discount. If he plays out his contract he is 100% done with Dallas. Its a game of chicken that is getting very close to neither side moving.

Public comments by the team, the player or the player's agent about contract negotiations tend create more drama, problems and distractions than actually help the situation.

It will ultimately impact other players as well as they get asked their opinions on the situation.

Until either side makes a definitive announcement that says or suggests that negotiations have ended, the presumption is both sides are still trying to work out a deal of some kind.

The minute that's no longer the case, you can expect one side to pre-emptively announce something about it to get their version in the media first.

...because it needs not be said. It's obvious. Maybe you're the type that needs the obvious to be stated. Jerry prefers ambiguity and has said as much.

The only person that will kill negotiations is Dak. If nothing gets done before early September, Dak will likely announce he’s focusing on the season. If he makes it to January unsigned, he’s likely gone. He’ll rather test FA than deal with Jerry at that point.

That he hasn't signed yet means that he is holding out for money he isn't worth, or it could mean that Jerry is secretly on the "one year to prove it" plan with Dak. Jerry has been burned many times by guys who had a big year in contract year only to get paid and shift to coast mode for the duration of the deal. Maybe he has finally figured this out?

Because it's an ongoing negotiation they're not lying they literally are negotiating this isn't not an impasse this is not where they haven't talked in months and nothing's gonna happen they both have said in public that there have been offers that means there's movement that means there's discussions that means this is not what you think it is so stop bringing up the same thing we're talking about I'm 15 other threads thank you very much.... Both ram and Prescott's people said yes in fact there are contracts being introduced they are having discussions this is not them lying to the public and by the way even if he is gonna play out his contract doesn't even mean he's gone come March he can shop his wares other places and then come back to Jerry and let him match he could still be here even if he plays out his contract he could end up still signing back as a Dallas cowboy that is not out of the question so stop acting like these things are like just a done deal where he's done as a cowboy cause not one person has said that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually that's all true except for one thing I could still see him shopping around in March when he becomes a true free agent and brings the deal to Jerry and lets Jerry match I can see him still wanting to be a cowboy lots of things are still on the table and he could say all he wants that he wants to table it until March but I don't mean a deal still can't get done in the middle of the year I mean you guys act like none of this has ever happened in the NFL and it can four games into the season one side or the other could decide to go ahead and make it official and go ahead & the papers it happens their deals being passed around it is never over till it's over..

GM Jethro loves the attention. Even if it makes him look incompetent.

And everyone of you don't know even what he was meaning his intentions when he said that meaning there was no reason to discuss the actual language and the amounts in the contracts being handed back and forth during negotiations because it's not a done deal and it would be ridiculous to talk about it and tell me how an official contract agreed upon that's what he meant by ambiguity there's no reason to feed information to the public even though fans and media think they're entitled to being part of the negotiations at every turn and he's saying no he rather leave it at we're negotiating and then when it's official we'll talk about it that is ambiguity he doesn't need to talk about specifics you have no right to it not at all I know there's social media and real time applications and all this stuff that we're used to that is not part of being a fan you do not need to be part of every single little thing happening with money and contracts....

They both have said there have been talks there have been movement that means there's no impasse there's nothing to report therefore y'all need to just stop talking about it until there's something to talk about that's what he meant and that's exactly what I meant you don't need to know the particulars about what offers were on the table and what was turned down there's no reason to put that out in public for both sides it could be embarrassing for both sides because what if Prescott was offered 55 and turned it down he's gonna look greedy or would if Jerry only offered fifty it's gonna make him look bad nobody needs to know the damn particulars of negotiations when it becomes official they'll let you know....

I think the madness of the media and the fan base they're so used to everything being in real time now everything needs to be on their timetable and by their rules and it's ridiculous that anyone thinks that the egomaniacal fan bases need to stop it includes the media reporting crap at every minute like even when there's nothing to report they report there's nothing to report they just keep the wound open so you can keep talking about it so there's clickbait all over the place of nonsense you know when that happens all the misinformation that gets filled in by people that is why they choose not to talk about it and I agree with them wholeheartedly all I care about is the fact that both lamb and Prescott's agents confirmed that there have been talks... there's nothing else to report~!~!!

Corporate leaders usually never make declarations that they aren't forced to.

Ambiguity is king and the process just has to play out organically. Dak has shown up for all the camps and TC so he will definitely be on the field wether the contract is extended or not.

Dak looks perfectly fine. Its the Jones's who look incompetent. Guys like Trevor Lawrence are getting paid and they are making a All Pro wait. Its embarrassing but to their credit they don't care about being embarrassed because if they did they would've stepped down as GM by now. But its been 28 years and they don't seem to care.
