Why onside kick with 3:24 left?

That onside kick with 3:24 made no football sense whatsoever!
The team was getting great momentum cutting the lead to 3.
With over 3 minutes left, one timeout and the 2 minute warning, there was no need for that desperate/stupid move.
The Defense was doing pretty decent at that point and I thought they had a good chance of stopping them again, maybe, and I was also confident in Baker choking under pressure.
But instead, we do the dumbest thing possible to prevent us from having any chance.
Whyyyyyyyy?

Another trash decision by MMC.

We had them on the ropes. Baker was sweating on the outside. You pin them deep and hope for another Mayfield Blunder. Besides that OBJ TD Run where all our Defense whiffed they werent doing **** for a whole quarter.

It should have been a full blown on side kick attempt. The Browns score 100x out of 100 on that final drive.

Situational decision making hasn't been a strength of this organization in about 15 years...
I agree
But in this case I think onside kick was right
If you had 3 TO then it’s different but one first down could have ended the game

Because we have fraud coaching staff. And Fossile should be relieved of his duties...special teams are worse now than last season...did not think that was possible...
