Video: Why Robert Jones Could be a 'Huge' Pick Up for the Cowboys

I just feel like that lineup gives you the closest thing to nearly having an elite line.

It's not about where the players are now. Yeah, like DQ said, be where your feet are.

But, to me, it's more about coaching them all up to their potential. I actually do think Tyler Smith can be a top 5 LT in the league given the proper coaching. He has the ability.
I agree.

I’m with you. I just don’t see it happening.

All along I’ve felt it’s been an outsmart everyone else thing by keeping Tyler at LG, signing him accordingly, then maybe moving him out to LT on the cheap....as if he won’t say a word about it.

Let’s see what actually happens.
I thought this too.

I like the pick up. He played a lot of quality starting snaps down in Miami. He was mauling guys. Many of the Miami fans were stunned they didn't retain him . I wouldn't doubt this guy ends up starting for us at rg or lg. Worst case, hes a back up. He's really going to push for a role. This makes for good competition in camp.

He seems better than Chuma Edoga.

Low bar, but still an improvement.
Chuma was a turn style. Plus he played more tackle than guard I think. But still was a liability. He lacked power. Yes indeed, correct, this signing was an improvement.

So, I was curious and looked it up. It did take him a while. But he had a knee issue that prevented him from being drafted.

My response was to fivetwos speculating that the team's plan may have been to play and pay Tyler at guard while ultimately switching him to LT.
My post wasn't Leary related.
But no worries brother.

I quoted the wrong post.

My bad

Remember many were killing the Kyle Kosier signing years ago and he actually became a quality starter for several years at the position.
True.

I like Jones because he reminds me of Ron Leary, one of my favorite OL of all time..

Jones has been my favorite FA signing this off-season.
