Why should we hire Deion Sanders?

Like lots of people here, my mind lives in the 90s. In the 90s, Deion was the only CB that existed in my mind like Shannon Sharpe was the only Tight End that existed.

But as a coach, he has done nothing. He was 9-4 this year in a lame conference. Im not expecting a miracle from him in his 2nd year, but if he's such a top coach.... why can't he elevate such an overhyped program with 2 Heisman candidates into at least a playoff birth? Making the playoffs is a joke now.... Arizona St turned around faster than Deion did.... and they didn't have a coach anyone cared about before this year. Maybe his 3rd year is his year, but the possibility of that is kinda dubious now with his 2 Heisman loverboys going to the NFL.

Also, we know picks 1, 2 and 3 are Sanders, Ward, and Hunter name your order. If Shedur goes to the Giants.... who's to say he can remain objective and without emotion sending Parsons and the full fleet against his son twice a year?

I say we hire Jon Gruden. He was my favorite coach in the early 00s. Ok maybe you can argue Martz, but he was a playcaller primarily. Gruden can REALLY build a team. Look what he did with Oakland and Tampa.... 2 black hole franchises at the time. Maybe he didn't "build" Tampa, but I highly doubt Dungy wins the Super Bowl with that 02 team.

Hell no. Besides being an immoral piece of trash his head coaching record in the regular season is 117–112.

That is a winning percentage of .511 which is even lower than Jeff Fisher. Let that sink in for a while. I swear Cowboys fans crave mediocrity and retreads.

Sanders is ALL about marketing himself at this point. That's all this is.

This will be a Mike Singletary-like situation except Sanders is even more narcissistic.

Sanders could be a good hire. Cowboys would lose a lot of games next year and be in the lottery for Arch Manning. They could draft Manning and fire Sanders and hire Belichick.

As for Gruden, I think Gruden has found his new calling. Pretty sure his lawsuit with the NFL is still going on as well - I really doubt he's going to be coaching any time soon.

Yet you seriously tell me and contribute to me not caring! Have a great life, I'm sorry someone holding a 10 year vet accountable is an issue lol what a joke
You think yelling at a QB with a limited skill set is going to change things? Pay attention to the games and watch the issues with Daks limitations and you would know otherwise.

I'm doubtful that D. Sanders is the answer to our need for a competent head coach.
He's just Jerry's first idea to limited choices. In terms of experience, it's zero.

There aren't many possible choices -- how many actually want Jerry as their boss?

Lol sitting back and watching him choke every year and saying HEY BIG GUY next time you'll get it is ok? Now I didn't say talk about his wife, or his family issues, but he's a football player, players get chewed out, there's nothing wrong with that! Maybe this is what he needs with his limited skills as you say

If you hire Deion, the top 3 football people in the organization (Jerry, Stephen, Deion) will combine for 0.0 hours of film watched per day. At that point you treat this team like the WWE. Entertainment but results don’t actually matter.

Look, it doesn't matter who we trot out as head coach.

So let's at least have some fun. Sanders gives us week to week entertainment, with the promise of an inevitable war of words and hilarious fallout with the world's worst GM.

Sure, we could hire Gruden or Moore and maybe squeek out a 9 win season and suffer thru the head coach polishing Joneses ...ego...in weekly press conferences while the team misses the championship for a 30th, 31st, 32nd straight year. But what's the point?

I want Sanders because it'll be interesting for a short time. And absolutely nor status quo. I think the players--and Jerry--would finally be challenged.

The players wouldn’t take him seriously. The kicker would be watching more film than Deion. That works in college because HCs have to fundraise and do a bunch of stuff that’s not football related. The NFL you need serious football people.

I want Sanders because the NFL is entertainment. It will force me to actually watch a NFL game again. Will he win a Super Bowl? No. It doesn't matter who Jerry hires as coach the Cowboys are not winning a Super Bowl. So give me the hire that gives me the most entertainment value.

Colorado was 1-11 when he got there.
They were really bad.
With the transfer portal, it's easier to get talent, but it's not a sure fire way to build a winner.
Every year there he has made progress.

You expected him to be in the College playoffs by year 2?

I'm no fan of Deion, but to say he hasn't done a good job in Colorado is whack.

Arizona St and Boise had strong running games. someone like Jeanty or Skattebo can have more impact on the game when they get the ball 20+ times. Hunter was a great CFB player, but he wasn't getting the touches the RBs were.
Now with Cam leaving Arizona State, see if they are still "turned around" or just ran on the coattails of their RB.

If his son was allowed to still do the daily YouTube videos I’d be all for it behind the scenes

If you think NFL players won't follow Deion Sanders, an iconic hall of fame player with a personality the size of Australia, I don't know what to tell you. I mean, I guess the new generation is young. But they know who Deion Sanders is.
