Why should we hire Deion Sanders?

Colorado was 1-11 when he got there.
They were really bad.
With the transfer portal, it's easier to get talent, but it's not a sure fire way to build a winner.
Every year there he has made progress.

You expected him to be in the College playoffs by year 2?

I'm no fan of Deion, but to say he hasn't done a good job in Colorado is whack.

Arizona St and Boise had strong running games. someone like Jeanty or Skattebo can have more impact on the game when they get the ball 20+ times. Hunter was a great CFB player, but he wasn't getting the touches the RBs were.
Now with Cam leaving Arizona State, see if they are still "turned around" or just ran on the coattails of their RB.
Of course he's done a good job but not good enough to lead such a high expectation franchise. You have to beat Sean McVay, Nick Sirianni, Dan Campbell, Dan Quinn, and Kyle Shanahan here or you'll be the punching bag in the Dallas media. Kinda an exponential increase in pressure for a coach with 2 years of significant experience coaching college (cuz nobody cares what he's done in Jackson State)

Deion will fit the Rooney rule. Plus it brings attention to the Cowboys and Deion for that matter. This is entertainment at its best. So when Jerry gets serious about the hiring process during Super Bowl week, he would have the Rooney rule interview in the bag plus Deion can get a big extension from Colorado. Win, win from both.

100% agree there. I think he should stay in college.
But just feel like he does deserve more credit for the turnaround for Colorado.
We'll see how they'll do without his boys/Hunter but he landed some more talent in the transfer portal.

I'm doubtful that D. Sanders is the answer to our need for a competent head coach.
He's just Jerry's first idea to limited choices. In terms of experience, it's zero.

There aren't many possible choices -- how many actually want Jerry as their boss?
As fans we tend to be popularity readers and don't really figure out the strengths of a team integrated set of features.

I wouldn't hesitate with Deion Sanders in charge of setting standards for the passing game on offense or defensing the passing game as well. The NFL is all set up on the ability to dominate the passing game on both sides of the ball. That, Sanders can lead and sharply do it with accountability at every phase of demands. Win for the Cowboys and win for Jerry Jones.

Jerry will be getting credit for empowering a black coach in the running of the Dallas team...all reasonable reasons for bringing even more recognition to Jerry running his team.

I'd take and give him a five year contract and listen to him as to player demands as well.

Huh? Are you drunk? A franchise which has not gotten out of the divisional playoff round in 30 years has high expectations?
Reading this board, my impression is that people have way too high of an expectation for this team. Expectations that don't exist on most other team forums. That's just me and my perception tho.

He would need to do another. It's now two interviews.

Our secondary coach, Al Harris. He will probably be the first interview. Then we can get to the big boys Kellen and Gruden. I don’t think they can interview Kellen until the Eagles lose so it won’t happen until after the Superbowl.:thumbup:

Jerry is in a pickle here. He needs to hire someone that's going to make a big enough splash to make him look smart. The national media is making him look like an old fool overplaying his hand with MM and screwing himself out of being able to talk to top tier assistant coaches on playoff teams last week.. Jerry needs a win. He needs it soon, and he'll pay for Dieon bc of who he is.

Jerry doesn't respect "walk around coaches". the same way he respects his former HOF players who have won super bowls for him. Dieon will forever be in Jerry's good graces for bringing him that post-Jimmy Super Bowl trophy. People may not remember, but that win meant a lot to Jerry b/c he felt it vindicated him. That's why we see Dieon in the ROH in spite of only being a cowboy for 5 seasons and less than half his career. If Jerry is going to open up his wallet for anyone, it's Dieon Sanders.

We're not going to hire anyone good, so screw it. Let's go full circus mode and at least have some fun.

Let's make Jerry's last few years the most embarrassing in sports.

Yahoo...root for a loser instead of making a winner. Stick with stealing what ever you can get away with...but still, there never is the right way to do the wrong think.

Even Jerry invests in change to improve and win...try it, Ace.

I'm thinking Kellen will be available after Sunday.

The Rams are hitting their stride at exactly the right time, and it's hard to bet against McVay.

This team is going nowhere for several years, so I like the idea of picking a guy with an ego and personality that will clash with Jerry. Who knows...maybe Jerry will lose that battle and we will be free if him (heart attack, goes demented, etc.)

Hell no. Besides being an immoral piece of trash his head coaching record in the regular season is 117–112.

That is a winning percentage of .511 which is even lower than Jeff Fisher. Let that sink in for a while. I swear Cowboys fans crave mediocrity and retreads.
Thank you, Ive been saying this. Gruden is one of the most overrated coaches ever

Lol sitting back and watching him choke every year and saying HEY BIG GUY next time you'll get it is ok? Now I didn't say talk about his wife, or his family issues, but he's a football player, players get chewed out, there's nothing wrong with that! Maybe this is what he needs with his limited skills as you say
Parcells chewed Romo, and where did that get Romo?

Prime because win or lose we'd be in for some entertaining press conferences and sideline antics.
