Why so high on the Vikings?

Latin makes a valid point with his post. However, this team isn't as one dimensional as the Saints or the Eagles. And we certainly haven't come across a RB with the talent of Peterson last year.

But I must admit, I feel a little better about this game after Latin posted their schedule. I knew it was pretty weak, but I didn't think it was THAT weak.

I disagree. In recent years Minn was a very talented team but with no quarterback. Now Favre > Vick.

Plus the Vikings are healthier than Philly was.

Compared to Phil, Vikes have:
Better D-line
Better QB
Better RB
Better #1 receiver
You are being kind to Philly, imo.

They've got a lot of talent, very balanced team and they are playing at home.

Offensively they've got AP, Chester Taylor, Favre, Harvin, Rice, Berrian and Shiancoe. That's fantastic.

I think Berrian at the very least is very dangerous and he's probably their 3rd best WR on the team.

Defensively they have the Williams boys, Jared Allen and Antoine Winfield. They don't scare me as much defensively, but Allen is ridiculously good and can change the game.

They went 12-4 this year, you have to respect that any way you slice it.

YAKUZA

of course you hae to respect them. you have to respect the oakland raiders just a little. but im confident that dallas wins and wins just as convincingly as the eagles game. cowboys are tested and they have the games to prove it. just because i see the cowboys as wnning easily doesnt mean the team is. im just saying as a fan i love what i see from dallas. and im not worried as with past playoff years. this team is the real deal. and the emergence of crayton. man dallas has to be a favorite for the superbowl.

It is always a bad idea to go through a team's regular season schedule and pick apart their opponents.

This is the Playoffs and every team has chance to win 1 Game per week.

Personally, I think it is difficult to win 12 Games and not be considered a good team.

The Vikings have Brett Favre and whether you like him or not, he gives his team a chance to beat you.

I agree I like our chances. If the Cowboys play to their ability and stay focused on the job at hand I think we can go into Minn and win that game. I do think Minn is a good team with allot of very good weapons and that makes them dangerous.

The Cowboys beat the Eagles by 20 and we called off the dogs....so it maybe it was a 30 point margin-type game.

I would bet you 1 grand we do not beat the Vikings in that manner at thier place.

I do plan on us winning though, and you made some nice points in your original post..:star:

and more of a chance for him to beat his own team. his past proves that:)

that all im saying. past yrs i didnt think dallas was anything special. this yr is totally different for me. im actually clear headed and just expecting to see a win.

im just nervous about them damn cardinals.

Honestly, you can say the same thing about Tony Romo and many other Quarterbacks.

Regardless, I think it is extremely dangerous to look at a team's regular season schedule and use that as a basis for saying they are a mediocre team are maybe not that good.

Also, I believe the Minnesota are a better team then the Eagles.

I think this is going to be an extremely physical game.

The closer you get to the Super Bowl, the higher the level players will play.

Forget about the Regular Season.

IMO there just a better version of the eagles, Harvin and Berrian are like jackson and maclin except they have sidney rice. We haven't faced a running back of peterson's caliber(as in top 5 running back, with the exception of deangelo williams but he only got 11 carries). Brett Favre is playing better than mcflabb. There defense is alot better than the eagles. This team is no joke.

big "except"...rice is a very tough matchup....kind of like Vincent Jackson was.

All good points.

i think we will win, i think we are a better team. that being said vikings are a very very good and explosive team. sidney rice had by far his best season as a receiver with favre at the helm. they have so many weapons, and the worst thing is they could just hand the ball off to AP every down like last year. they are dangerous and can put up a lot of points quick. i don't understand how they can be overlooked, it's any given sunday and they are legit. in the end we win :)

have you seen our season? i hate this argument.

The plan is simple. Get ahead right away , they drop the run game ,go to passing attack,we go to rush the passer all out and let Igor and others stuff the draws and screens.
Works every time!!

I love All Day, but we will cause him to fumble at least once, and probably twice and we will intercept Favre.

im wondering why everybody is on the vikings testicals this yr. did nobody notice their schedule? check it out

wk 1 at browns win
thats a given

wk 2 at lions win
really?

wk 3 niners win
niners were awful to start the yr. and vikes needed that prayer td at the end of the game.

wk 4 packers win
again nobody remember how bad gb was? they had no ol and alot of injuries

wk 5 at rams win
my goodness

wk 6 ravens win
ok win

wk 7 at steelers loss
team with a defense loss. without palumalu i might add

wk 8 at packers win
this was a good win

wk 10 lions win
see a trend?

wk 11 seahawks win
ugly ugly ugly

wk 12 chicago win
no defense. no running game. no passing game. worst qb in the nfl

wk 13 at cardinals loss
vikings got destroyed

wk 14 bengals win
bengals were bad for the last month. injuries killed them

wk 15 at carolina loss
peppers killed that team. Ap? no

wk 16 at bears loss
how do they lose to them?

wk 17 @giants win
giants were destroyed before this game. and the media announced the vikes were back

their schedule was cupcake this yr. i told people on another cowboys forum i post at about the eagles going into the final week of the reg season. eagles were garbage. they had their meat of the schedule at the begining of the yr. and they were exposed. had a easy last half. and it showed in both games. they just werent in the cowboys league. these vikings havent proved squat. what they can run on the lions rams and bears? they can throw on them too?

the vikings cant block ware or spencer. and the nfl north doesnt hit the way the east does. them wr on the vikings arent used to the physical play. and that showed in games vs the cardinals and panthers. this game should be a replay of the eagles games. if the cowboys come ready to play by halftime i expect to be relaxed and thinking about the nfc championship. their secondary is awful after winfield. and theyre lbers are ok but witten will eat them alive. and their defense has nobody that can catch felix. nobody at all.

im saying it now. get ready for the cowboys playing the cardinals in arlington. thats the game people need to worry about.

This was an easy schedule besides the games at GB they won and the games they lost.

I see 4 wins vs playoff teams--we had 3. There schedule could have been harder, but they did go 13-3.

Cowboy 27-24

Not to be anal but Palumalu did play in this game, one of the few Vikings games I watched.

Hey Guys, Vikings fan here, Not here to Troll. These two teams statistically are mirrors of each other. This will be a very close game, i'm thinking 21-24, Min with a late 4th Q Brett Drive. But if your team keeps playing like they have been and we play like we did vs Az or Car, it will be over by Halftime. If our O line cant protect Brett its going to be a long painful game to watch. I will be expecting a lot of short passes/screens from Brett to Ap/Shaincoe. I also think Chester Taylor will have a better game then Ap, He has been playing extremely well latley, IMO he is more reliable than Ap. Ap is either on or off, not very consistent.

They are at home....where they are 8-0.
We lost to Denver
We lost to NY twice
We lost to GB

We are better now vs earlier, but to pull up a road loss by them way back when does not mean a whole lot, imo.

Still....Dallas 27-24
