Why the draft cannot fix every roster hole

Not saying that at all They have done that, but they also could change that by changing the philosophy but changing nothing keeps things the same status quo.

If you could read you would understand my post I will not debate with someone who wants to be ugly and childish. Have I ever been ugly to you? Why do you find the need to be a bully? It could be, maybe...you're taking it... too seriously and personal. It's a sports message board...and we're just dudes sitting around having a beer or soda.

we do not need the draft to fill holes.

We need an owner who will believe in his coaches, let them determine the process, than give them time and let them invest in the players they want. If we allow the coaches to install the pipe lines correctly, than we ll funnel in the correct players and not what a owner who wants new toys want. The system is fine, the owner was gunking it up.

Listen closely. The Cowboys spend major major amounts on their own FAs. That leaves very little for FA. And since they've proven to be horrific at evaluating talent, spending big would be stupid anyway.

I understand they spend on their own players and never stated they do not take that strategy. My point is they do not spend big money on FA.

The strategy of not spending big on free agents (their cheapness) is the driver/excuse for their spending strategy on their own players.

Jerry runs Dallas as a business since he broke the mold on how to finance a sports team and build a new stadium (Jerry Jones / Cowboys ~$650M).
He demands a balanced P&L and steers away from risk (aka big FA spending). Stable labor spends on known commodities (in house players) is a safer and cheaper bet. Winning is his profits which means he is cheap when it comes to big money free agents.

So, your answer is to be ugly and childish? Weird.

We severely lacked talent on D last season. I mean, 7 or 8 of our starters beginning the season would not have started for anyone else. So, where is this talent?

Apologies for being this way, too many fans are being rude on here and I get caught up in it sometimes.

Not having the cap space and being cheap are two different things. Mr Dolt, that is too funny. You get that off Sponge Bob and Square Pants?

Any chances at all for a round 2 pick. Linebacker and cornerback still are shallow groups. Day 2 there is a round 3 pick.
