Why the pitch out to Barber on 4th and One ???

I really appreciate all that Barber has given this Team over the years.
That said , dude has lost a step.
Why the pitch out to him on 4th and one ?

Did we not see this play not work already agaist the Vikings in the playoff loss last year at a critical jucture ?

We need to sit Barber and see what we have in Choice as the playoff pipedream is now gone.

The D probably expected Dallas to run it up the gut. Garret knew this and chose the sweep. It just wasn't executed cause Barber SUCKS.

Felix converts that 1494585858 %. It's not on Garrett. Well, he probably should have run it up the gut Barber, so it kinda is. Whatever.

I said it in the game thread and I've said it before, that play is horrific and should've been scrapped long ago. Not the pitch, but the pitch to Barber! It has such a small chance of success because of his lack of speed and inability to make people miss. Dive at his legs and he falls down. Garrett definitely made a couple of head-scratching calls/decisions today. Why not try that FG when you're at the 35? Bizarre. He made some nice calls too, but the pitch to Barber and the punt were stupid IMO.

I liked teh call. Did not like that we ran it with Barber. The olineman specifically Columbo must stay on his feet. Harper disrupted the play and that caused him to leap and hurt this momentum.

To me it was the call, not so much who executed it. Yes I think MB lost a step too, and want to see more of FJ & TC. But this time it was the call more than the player.

The only time I recall that stupid pitch on 4rth and 1 ever work was agaisnt washington last year. If you're going to do that atleast give it to Choice or Felix.

I like the play .... to anyone but Barber.

Garrett said the defense was locking up the "A and B gaps" inside and that the play wasn't necessarily supposed to go that far outside ... that the RB can cut upfield if he sees a crease.

The problem is Barber can't be the guy in there for that play.

I didn't mind the play but in order for that play to work you needed Columbo to clear his side of the field and he didn't. No one would've got that on this team. Barber fought for it. I'm on the fence about Barber. I see hunger there. I see fire. But I don't see any holes so how can I knock him for not being able to block for himself?

It's almost like we thought "Surely we'll fool them because they'll never expect us to pitch it to a slow running back to the side of a slow tackle who most assuredly won't be able to block."

Had we run the same play with Felix to Free's side it's probably an easy first down.
