With Dak's tired arm, and Tyron sitting out after one day of padded practice, Cowboys should come back the the realization that the Dallas Cowboys do not have a Head Coach that knows players and a GM that knows how to assemble a football team.

Do you really think you are going to contend for a Super Bowl with a Top 10 QB coming off a major injury with Cooper Rush, Gilbert, and DiNoodle as back ups? See Jimmy Johnson handle the initially often injured Troy Aikman with Steve Beuerlein, and Bernie Kosar

Do you really think you are going to contend for a Super Bowl with a DL of players that could not start for their previous team or who has not played a full season in 4-5 years? See Tex/Gil build 2 Doomsday DL, and Jimmy Johnson rotate Haley, Jeffcoat, Tolbert, Maryland, Casillas, Hennings, Lett, and Jones to back to back Super Bowls.

Do you really think Tom Brady is shaking in his boots with 3 ex Achilles heal injured players in the secondary, a second year CB, players off the scrap heap, and a couple of rookies new to the NFL? If the Cowboys are wounded Knee at LB, they are fresh meat or Elvis Patterson (Toast) at DB.

Do you really think an OL that has shown signs of injuries and sub par play is suddenly going to be the Great Wall of Dallas? This group will not make anyone forget 4 Irishman and a Scott let alone the Great Wall of Dallas.

If your answer to any of these questions is yes, you to are a Dumbo GM like Jerry "Dumbo GM" Jones and a Head Coach like Mike "basement massage parlor and NFL video vault voyeur" because you too watched every play in the NFL last season.

Trade for starting DT and DE, get a credible back up QB, and make sure you have a cohesive 2nd team OL. If not, the sky will fall in Jerry World.

It doesn't take much to shake the confidence of Cowboys fans - not after the last 25 years. I don't have much confidence in the first place - because of those 25 years - but even those who do are shaken at the first sign of bad news.

There's only one way to change it, and that doesn't happen in July, August, or even September. Confidence is gained by success in January and February.

I agree with a lot of what you said. But name the backup QB for Brady last year? How much did it matter?

Interesting to watch Cowboyszone members tribe up like a bunch of campus snowflakes. Until the Cowboys break their jinx, it's fair game to question if cupcake culture is still a problem. As the old saying goes: a football team is a reflection of its fanbase and vice versa. So if the jellyfish reaction of the homers on this forum are of any indication, then the 2021 Dallas Cowboys are in serious trouble!

I think Washington will surprise some people. the defense is good enough to make up for Fitz's bad games. He probably landed in a good spot to help him in his bad streaks. he will have good games but has times when he has bad games.

The problem is that the other teams sans the Bungals have a legitimate nfl gm who wks long hours exclusively focused on making the roster the best it can be. And Dallas? We have a gm focused on the business/profit side of football who occasionally dabbles in trying to improve the roster. Jerry doesn’t have time to do the work of a gm because he’s working on bringing Wrestle Mania and George Strait (what a hack) to AT&T stadium. What little time is left Jerry likely asks Will McClay what he has been doing to improve the roster lol.

Washington seems to be the unanimous pick for best NFL defense among top sportswriters. Their defense line is just scary. They certainly have a great coach in place.

You make some valid points
But in today's nfl with a cap you can't stock pile talent like Jimmy did.

I heard that Dak is in the shape of his life. If so he played his whole career with a bad shoulder and should be better now.

We all know that JJ isnt compentent. And his son neither.

Players don't fear the coaching staff bc they know the coaching staff does not have final say. If the players don't fear for their jobs, the coaching has nothing to work with or motivate. Its how Jerry undermines the entire organization and been doing so for decades. You have to put the coaches in charge and give them control over the roster.
