While I appreciate your long winded and spirited post (that reminds me of something from a 90's Star telegram)

The bottom line is I've not seen a game where the cowboys were dismissed by so many, and called out so feverishly in such an unwarranted manner.

I'll be the first to accept the cowboys portrayed as underdogs, but this piling on by the media might punch our ticket to the super bowl ..
LOL, when I take a deep breath, I let it all out.

I agree, this "toughness" thing is out of control and I hope the coaching staff is all over this. I do not believe in bulletin board material but this is different, this is almost personal.

If I were McC, I would ask the players to forego the usual jumping around and inciting a riot to just stand there and stare across the field at the other team and think about what's been said and written about them. Stare in silence and mentally prepare.

When you attack another man's manhood, that IS personal. No way around it.

Who is "we"? Some of these players have never played in a playoff game wearing the Cowboys uniform.

This is not the 2016 or 2018 team, it is the 2021 one and it is different from those other teams.
Some of these players, including our $160M QB, pulled a complete choke job in the last pressure game they played against the Eagles in 2019 to get into the playoffs. This included said $160QB choking on the last drive and air mailing what could have been a game tying pass and getting outperformed generally by a QB throwing to a WR corp that was among the worst ever seen in an nfl game due to injuries. They have a chance to change their identity, but the choker label still applies to some of our guys, at least our QB.

How'd your $90 million most expensive RB in franchise history do in that game?

Unfortunately not all Cowboy fans are able or choose not to be more unbiased or objective. It’s just not in their DNA. Much like pampering your own child.

They don’t want to hear anything that doesn’t support our team or that might not paint a favorable spin.

The hype heading into the game is meaningless except to the media which I’ve avoided all week not turning on ESPN or NFL Network but I do follow the local media and print which have stuck more to this seasons results, current trends and the specific matchups and concerns which are valid.
Yeah, I’ve avoided the “expert” shows like the plague this week.

I never watch that crap anymore. I can do my own analysis of players and games just fine without seeing what the talking heads have to say about it.

I see a lot of concern over the media, talking heads and anyone else picking against the Cowboys. I do not get it because they will actually settle this on the field tomorrow so why should we care what anyone else thinks?

This is the perfect matchup for many of these ex coaches and players because they're just human. Think they do not get tired of the "must discuss" Dallas Cowboys all the time? To them, the tail is wagging the dog. Some begin to hate the Cowboys because they dislike being forced to talk about them more than any other team.

I mean, c'mon, ask yourself this. The defending champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers, do they get discussed nearly as much as the Cowboys? Did Tom Brady, the QB that has thrown for more TD's and yards than any other this season, get discussed as much as Dak Prescott's slump? He is having a MVP season and gets more coverage in a Subway commercial. Think that doesn't wear on those ordered to talk about Dak and the Boys? It sure as hell would wear on me and I'd take my shots when I could. Like now.

This isn't a football team; it is its own reality show complete with the obligatory shot of the owner in every game and it doesn't matter where that game is played. He is the only owner in history that gets that.

The team is a poster child for marketing and promotion but that does not sit well with the ex footballers that are still about the game and not the show business game.

So, on one hand you have the forever hyped glitz and glamour Dallas Cowboys with stars a plenty and on the other this blue collar rabble from the land of wine and cheese perceived to be the old Packers or Steelers, so much tougher of body and mind than the Hollywood Dallas Cowboys.

This is a gift to them, it is two polar opposites, or at least they're trying to make it seem that way and the Bay Area Bullies are coming to teach the softer Cowboys a lesson in tough football. Ridiculous.

But they forget one thing, the uniform does not make the player. Inside those Cowboys uniforms are men just as tough as the tough guy Niners. They hit with the same authority and resolve and once that first kickoff starts sailing through the air, it is no longer about any of this chatter, and much from people we've never heard of before, it is a football game.

I don't care who they pick, I don't care who you pick or even who I pick. Tomorrow we return to the playoffs. The playoffs I took for granted for so many years as a right because we were the Cowboys. I bought in too.

The most interesting part of all of this is that the Cowboys aren't being called out as a team, their manhood is being questioned. Football is a tough man's game and to insinuate one man is not tough enough to beat the other, he lacks that most necessary ingredient required of a professional football player is absurd. A player cannot help it if another is bigger, faster, stronger or just more talented than he is, but he can match toughness.

This isn't the old Cowboys-Niners rivalry; this is the old Cowboys-Steelers rivalry of the 70's when blue collar steel mill grit played against Hollywood glitz and glamour. And toughness did not defeat those Cowboys, a couple of plays did.

If the Cowboys lose this, it will not be because they were not tough enough. They will be every bit as tough as the Niners. It will all come down to which team makes the plays when they need them the most.

And while this is about the media talking heads, two of the Niners tough guys, Bosa and Kittle, have talked and that can be a mistake. Players expect that from the media but tend to take it personally when coming from a player. I think Shanahan would have preferred them to be tough guys that don't talk.

This game is like the weather, everyone talks about it but no one does anything about it. Except those players wearing your colors will do something about it in less than 30 hours. They've been called out and not just by the media. They will respond.

Tomorrow the toughest team in the playoffs emerges much to the dismay of the talking heads. This just isn't a game, it is the first step and these men will be asking "who's next"?
Great inspiration AND makes sense too!!

It's all good, I appreciate you using paragraphs :) We're on the same page though for sure...

The thing is, I have zero issues with the Cowboys being an underdog and in many cases it's warranted, and this is especially true traveling to a place like Tampa or Green Bay. In all my years as a fan of the boys, I haven't quite seen them disrespected so much and so loudly on so many platforms. While I don't think pro athletes need bulletin board material to perform, I think our Cowboys are frustrated at themselves for losing some close games they should or could of won, and this is festering in them like a disease.

Some of the losses have been because of Mike resting certain players, and even holding some things back for the playoffs knowing we were getting in. It's been a long time since I've felt so strongly in a Cowboys win, and I believe that is because I know my team very well and how they respond typically...

I do like your comment about staring in silence, and I agree this is most likely where this team is at mentally at this point. I believe they're ready to deliver a knockout blow.

That is fact, came up short in a few games and 4 of them are in the playoffs. Lost by 2, 10, 3 and 3 and beat 3 by 20, 6 and 25.

I think the Cowboys win this one by double digits. But that is just what I think because I like the Dallas QB and WR's against this secondary and I like the Dallas D against this QB.

From your lips to God’s Ears coach :)

The reason all the EXPERTS are picking the 9ers is because the Boys went up against 4 playoff teams and lost all 4 games, in 2 of those games they were favored to win. If they would have knocked off just one of those teams then I believe some of the EXPERTS would have seen the Boys in a different light this Sunday. But then again more than half of all the talking heads have never played the game and are talking out of their a$$e$ just to get the Cowboy fan base all fired up. Have they succeeded?????? Hell yes they have, but the only way to shut them all up is for the Boys to come out with their own haymakers land some heavy shots and knock out those 9ers in the 3rd qtr, then it's on to next Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They all on niners thinking they are on a TB roll at this time. Difference is Garrapollo ain't no Brady. The guy does screw things up, makes wrong decisions, and throws interceptions. And their defense is not imposing. Dallas does have to show up though and bring their A game. B game won't do it.

I do listen a bit to select talkers, but very select. I used to like Cowherd, but he's started to fall into the "Just say stupid crapp for ratings" crapp. Jaws and Dilfer tend to be pretty good, and couple others, you simply have to pick and choose wisely. And avoid the StephenA's and Skippys.

Have you seen Bosa's nose? I don't think any of the Cowboys are that tough.
Zeke's been playing on one leg, Tyron's been playing sans vertebrae, and Galley will *** up if u look at him wrong. Kearse and Hooker would rather hit you than boink, and Zach thinks everyone in front of him would look better being part of the turf. Osa comes at you like you insulted his granny and Micah just wants to ring your bell. We are so much tougher than anyone gives us credit for. This is not those panty waist teams of a couple years ago.
