No its not because its halloween weekend!

Its because, the same things that made me positive about last weeks game from the atlanta perspective seem to be happening here.

Last week the media and the fans of the falcons acted like they would waltz in beat Dallas and get ready for the saints. Dallas was an afterthought. As soon as that attitude creeps in to the fans and the media there is a good chance the team gets a little of it too.

Last week it was on full display in atlanta and it is on full display here this week. Dallas is just going to blow seattle out and get ready for 44-6.

The fans of this team go from fire everyone and play kitna to how much we are going to win the superbowl by. Its ridiculous.

I think if hassleback is in decent enough shape that the passing offense of seattle worries me as much as atlantas. They are good outside and carlson is an outstanding tight end. Much like atlanta they dont get much from the running game, but it only takes one or two plays to pop a running game and change the mindset.

People keep referring to last years game on thanksgiving. Well, just for reference because I havent heard anyone talk about this, the seahawks last year played the Commanders in seattle the sunday before thanksgiving. It was a very physical game, the hawks had injuries already and they now had two days to get ready for another physical football game. That was a bad spot for seattle.

So with them having a bye and two weeks to prepare they will at least be more ready to play physically and mentally. I dont think that much of mora jr, but two weeks to prepare is two weeks.

I absolutely hate the tone of the fans and the media here this week. Bradie james said we are going to have to win ugly most of the year and I believe that is true. I dont think there are to many blowouts on the horizon.

I hope we do blow them out, but I dont see that.

I expect this to be the worst home crowd of the season. Dallas fans get to noon games late because of church, there are a ton of tickets available for this game which means people are bailing on this game. That means the atmosphere for this game will be very poor. So if we get behind 7 or 10 points it will be like a high school library in there.

So go ahead and tell me how they are hurt and this and that. This is the nfl, I expect it to be a tough game and I am fearing I may be the only one. I hope I am wrong on all accounts.

Good post. Overconfidence, whether it is from the team or the fans is always scary. It is evidence of a potential letdown. I think that, more than anything else, derailed 2007. Other things played a part, but I honestly think heads were so swollen at how good they were, that they took their eyes off the prize and paid the price.

Any given Sunday. No way the Raiders beat the Eagles again, but they don't play them again. The Eagles were stupid. I don't want this team to be.

Every game pretty much scares me. This is no different from the last game. I do think they have gotten over the Bigheadism they were suffering from and realize they can't take any team lightly.

On any given sunday......

We had better not take anything for granted.

I agree 100%, theebs, because of all the factors you mentioned: big win last week, noon game, opponent banged up and perceived as weak, they've had two weeks to prepare, a few of their good players coming back, etc. For that reason I expect a ragged performace, but I still think their injuries will be too much for them to overcome.

But I also wouldn't be surprised if we blew them out, and I never say that. Something seems different about this team, and I think the 2-2 start really got their attention. Honestly, if we were 5-1 right now and maybe the team subconsciously felt like they could lose a game and still be okay, I'd be a lot more worried.

I think that if Dallas can get off to a fast start it will greatly reduce Seattle's ability to compete. However if Dallas comes out flat and allows Seattle to stay in the game this could end up being one of those games(Oakland over Philly).

There should be a giant sign in the lockerroom that has a circle with a line through "4-3".

Agreed.

What's more, when healthy and with Hassleback playing, the Seahags really aren't nearly as bad as their record suggests.

If this team doesn't have the heart to capitalize on last weeks big win and beat a sorry Seattle team then they aren't a serious contender anyway. This is the kind of game good teams just don't lose. Not when you're a 10 point fav at home.

I mentioned in another thread that, normally, every game makes me nervous, some more than others obviously, but for some reason, I'm not nervous at all about this game.

I understand the argument about being overconfident, and perhaps the fans are, but I really don't think the players are. I'm sure they're taking the Hawks seriously and making diligent preperations for the game.

IMO, the only way the Cowboys lose this one is if they fall back into the 12 penalties for 130 yards and 3 turnovers pattern. The Cowboys will lose if they wind up beating themselves. But if they play a clean game, play the way they are capable, there's no way the Hawks can win this. They're just way too overmatched and too hurt to stay with this team.

Call me overconfident. That's fine. But if the Cowboys don't go wild with penalties, mistakes, and turnovers, this is going to be a blowout.

I think we'll win this week with relative ease.

I understand the worry. But I think this team showed a lot of mental toughness to survive weeks 2 through 4 and not collapse, but rather come back strong vs Atlanta.

I don't think we'll be ready to give that right back the next week.

Not at all declaring playoffs or any such thing. I just think we've grown up a bit of late and won't play the super flat game it would likely take to lose this week.

Seattle blows. Lou Holtz couldn't find a reason to worry about them.

i never worry against subpar teams with romo at qb.

it's just a question if romo blows them out. or throws some ints and has to win in on the last drive.

Im usually worried about these types of games but not this one.

Seattle is going to get kicked. The team hasn't seemed over confident at all this week and the only thing i've heard discussed is this team saying they are trying to get better.

Its @ home against a bad team. Cows 27 Hawks 13.

i hope Red has realized that playing not to lose will get us in big trouble as it did the kansas city game.we should come out and establish ourselves offensively.the defense will not be a problem this game.

...right...and if Seattle's offensive line is really in disarray without Walter Jones then it could be a big day for Ware, Ratliff and Spencer...once the light goes full on for Anthony then the Cowboys will be able to attack defensive lines from both edges and the interior...three points that will be tough to defend without max protect and three step drops...

The Cowboys are in good shape, have some confidence and D is stepping up. I don't see the Seahawks even making a game of this, Boys will win by 3 touchdowns, unless Wade goes into prevent then maybe 1 TD! :(

GOOD teams put these teams away.

We havent proven we're a good team yet, then. We almost lost to Carolina and KC.

Dallas isnt good enough to take anyone lightly.

There can't be any signs in the stadium though. Oh, wait... that is the Commanders stadium.

Nevermind.

Seriously, I don't think this team, at this point in the season, will overlook the Seahawks. I've been wrong before, but I think they will take them seriously.
