I'll put my money on that.

Politics.

They knew by getting rid of Sherman, it would force Favre into retirement as he's stated on numerous occasions that he wasn't going to stick around with a new coach and system.

Actually, I figure it was probably due to a strained relationship with Ted Thompson, but 4-12 and bad playoff experiences don't help.

I was wondering that as well...his team was plagued by injuries, how is that his fault?

I heard that today also. Thats was unfair to Sherman. Management should have had the stones to help escort Brett out the door.

Because he is a ******. 6 Years there and he hasnt tooken them to a superbowl is a failure in my opinion, How long are you going to give the guy a shot at winning it all? a decade? sounds like a decade wasted to me...

I highly doubt the Packers managment wants to send Favre packing, even if Rodgers is in the wings. In fact, I bet Mariucci lands in Green Bay in part because he has the best chance of bringing Favre back.

How do you feel about Cowher ?

I agree it was the easiest way to get rid of Favre, without a media and fan frenzy.

Might want to change your signature "Thebigd31". Looks pretty horrific or are you a true eagles fan?

Cowher is a whole nother story. He took the steelers to a superbowl in his 4th year there and I guess ever since then they have trusted him to get them back there, Plus he has done a good job most of the years.

He's an even bigger ******. 15-1 and done, one of the biggest embarassments in the history of the league. Not to mention 4 AFC Championship game losses at home when they were heavy favorites every time. But hey, those 8 division champion windbreakers sure are nice.

Quite a few more windbreakers than Parcells has had over the same span. :)

Or Gibbs. Big deal, they both have multiple rings while he's still trying to get that elusive "one for the thumb."
