Why, Why, Why?

Where do these false narratives come from?

Collins was really good as a rookie playing 3-tech.

He was forced to play 1-tech in 2017 and played through an injury. Irving wouldn't have been as successful in 2017 if the other DT was terrible.

They need a 3-man rotation of Collins, Irving and a legit 1-tech. With 2 DT positions that makes it about 60% of snaps for each with the 4th guy at 20%. They play both DTs basically as 3-techs on 3rd and long type situations.

so you think he will once again go back to 3T and he be fine there?

Name all the game changing 1's in the league, currently.
1's are not game changing unless they can run down plays laterally and get 5+ sacks per year. Suh is a game changing 1 tech. There are very few. Most are one trick ponies.

All the dominant defenses in the league have that big anchor in the middle whether it be a 4-3 or a 3-4 Defense.

Some are serviceable, some are above average, and yes few are elite but that can be said about any position. Is this really even up for debate, get real....

If Maliek Collins keeps you from drafting someone, you are doing it wrong.
He had a dominant rookie season,so you saying 2016 was a fluke? I'm not willing to replace the kid just yet..lol...

Lets stop getting all caught up in I techs,3 techs and such. Football is not meant to be complicated. Bottomline,I wanna put the best ball players on the field, period. If that means Hurst..ok, fine..if thats Collins..ok. I really think if we address WR and oline we help the defense. Sounds crazy I know lol...but if we are stretching the field with a receiver thats a stud..that is a good thing for the team. We can argue til the cows come home about the needs on the oline. You all know how I feel(love Hernandez)..he's my pet cat. Insert him at LG...demote Cooper..done deal.

He would if they get a 1-tech.

He was good at 3-tech his rookie year. As a 3-tech he is better against the run than Irving.

Irving made a lot of splash plays as a pass rusher, but part of that is because he abandons run contain.

They need two 3-techs and one 1-tech for the primary rotation with the 4th guy normally getting way less snaps than the top 3.
