Why would a new coach want to come here with a tight budget to spend in FA?

Jerry and Stephen would sell it to the coach very hard that what we already have assembled is a Superbowl roster. A smart candidate would realize that this team has massive holes to fill which is why they WEREN'T successful in the season.

If we sign a new coach, that coach better be man enough to tell Jerry to let me get some groceries, and make some tough decisions about the roster on players who need to stay or go! Please give your thoughts

Outside of a few top guys, Jerry n Stephen serving up PB & J sammichs every year, they don't care about groceries.

I don't know why a Coach would come to Dallas to have to fight his butt off to overcome scapegoat allegations, and have to play players he may not even want on the team.

  • Money (yes, some people accept jobs with less pay)
  • Experience (yes, 'Dallas Cowboys' still looks good on a resume)

'better be man enough'

Do you know what free agency is for. It’s for the team that needs that one player to get them themselves over the top
. You don’t build a team through free agency. You build it through the draft.
we are nowhere near ready to mess around with free agency.
And in fact, if I was a coach, I’d rather have a player trying to make a name from himself than a player with a big head. It thinks he already has .
free agency, lol everybody thinks one big name is gonna turn them around

So what if the eagles signed FA's in one off season that are contending for MVP/OPOY and also DPOY.....are you nuts?

They needed that one player, do you think Shaquan Barkley would’ve survived here? do you think he would’ve made a difference with Cooper Rush? Nothing would’ve helped this season until we get a quarterback. I think all the people are nuts if they think so. We need a handful of free agents not one.

Lol you're the only one saying one big name, I could care less about a big name, but it doesn't mean as least bring them in for a cup of coffee. We can sign some lower second week FA that's fine, but no, we want the bottom of the barrel, that's where we ended up!!

I'm not sure that means the same thing it used to mean. The entire NFL knows what a joke the organization has become, so why would anyone want that on his resume? If it were true every top notch coaching candidate would be knocking on Jerry's door every year, but who ends up getting hired? Of the last two hires one was vastly inexperienced and should have never been hired and the other was out of the NFL.

If I'm looking at resumes and I see that on a candidates list of jobs, I'm instantly thinking "oh, so you were just another butt kissing, yes man puppet for Jerry Jones". That's not an accomplishment to be proud of.

You are conveniently forgetting their FA DPOY candidate (Zach Baun). Not to mention guys like their safety who was picking off Cooper's passes at will on Sunday. They transformed their team partially through free agents. You sound like Spaulding re: your view on FA's.

Agreed

A good one wouldn't want to come here.

That's why we will dumpster dive for has beens (see: our last round of hiring) or guys who are unproven and not wanted (see: Carolina Panthers last round of hiring).

Basically, it's a bad situation that will attract people who have no other opportunity to be a head coach.

Our only hope is Jerry goes the unproven route and the guy ends up surprising everyone (including Jerry) and being quality.

I would say 2-3 players per year, not one

We do not know what the budget will be yet. Why do you think it will be tight?
Reports are they can have close to $100 million to spend.

Seems like a new coach would want that. If he can have influence on how to spend it. Which I think one would. Jerry and Son are not as controlling as fans and lame media think they are.
