Why would a new coach want to come here with a tight budget to spend in FA?

Why do you think the Cowboys have a tight budget? We already know they could create $100M in cap space if they wanted too. We've already been over this.

The question is why would any coach want to come to Dallas if the front office is not 110% committed to winning? The answer is, no coach I would want would come to Dallas under those circumstances.

They are committed to winning. Fan myth to think they only care about $$$.

I believe that believe they are committed to winning. I also do not believe it is all about money. We are way past the value of money when it comes to the Cowboys. With Jerry is is all about ego, and getting credit for whatever good comes out of his team, including being the most valuable franchise in sports.

But when I say committed to winning, I mean doing what is necessary to win, including signing free agents to fix weaknesses, and let players leave rather than overpaying them. Jerry will not change because he won't admit he is wrong. He is stubbornly trying to prove his way works even though after 30 years it is clear his way does not work.

I would say 2-3 players per year, not one
So you think football names fixes a team, I think football players fix the team. I’d rather have the guy trying to make a name for himself then pay somebody who is already used up
we sign our own for agents.
Plus, where are the Eagles ring this season. Hope they lose in the first round.

You are conveniently forgetting their FA DPOY candidate (Zach Baun). Not to mention guys like their safety who was picking off Cooper's passes at will on Sunday. They transformed their team partially through free agents. You sound like Spaulding re: your view on FA's.
And the Eagles still won’t get a ring

No I think it’s just the way the math seems to work
On average based upon draft success teams should plan on adding 2-3 starting caliber players per year via FA
This year we added Hendricks
We should have found a couple more

And yet they did in 2017 when their Super Bowl MVP QB was you guessed it......a free agent.
Again, you don’t get it. They were only one or two players from making it. We’re not in that position. What are you not understanding. Free agents are that one or two players to get you over the top. Sheesh
That’s not what happens here in Dallas, stupid fans just want names. If people only understood the game of football I mean, truly understood what’s happening?

I don’t have a problem with that, my problem is people thinking you can build a team through free agency.

Jerry and Stephen would sell it to the coach very hard that what we already have assembled is a Superbowl roster. A smart candidate would realize that this team has massive holes to fill which is why they WEREN'T successful in the season.

If we sign a new coach, that coach better be man enough to tell Jerry to let me get some groceries, and make some tough decisions about the roster on players who need to stay or go! Please give your thoughts
Massive holes to fill after all the injuries.

Do you know what free agency is for. It’s for the team that needs that one player to get them themselves over the top
. You don’t build a team through free agency. You build it through the draft.
we are nowhere near ready to mess around with free agency.
And in fact, if I was a coach, I’d rather have a player trying to make a name from himself than a player with a big head. It thinks he already has .
free agency, lol everybody thinks one big name is gonna turn them around
You only get 7 picks per year. You better be doing something else to acquire talent if you want a contending roster.

There's a limited number of jobs. Lots of candidates will interview for the gig and will want to get an offer. Fans overthink this stuff.

Also, money talks...it screams. If you want the top guy just pay for it. That's what Seattle and LAC did last coaching cycle.

Kellen Moore has gone through two HC interview cycles with Carolina and Miami making it to the final two candidates. He would jump at this job in a NY second.
