Why would a player wear his cleats when visiting the White House?

I must be honest. When I have visited Extremeskins all it has done is reinforce my already low low opinion of Skins fans and the delusion.

When I have visited Igglephan it does not paint a pretty picture of what the Filthy Eagle fans are like.

So, yes you may be naive. But I will add, you have come to a place where the classiest and best sports fans in all of pro sports come to post. Dallas Cowboys fans are by far the most decent and classiest of all sports fans.

This post deserves more of a response than the one I gave it the first time...

Say what you want about ES, and I agree that there are some ignorant fans there like every message board(clears throat) and some of the moderators are ***** to say the least, but there are also some very smart, very football knowledgeable fans there. Just read the draft thread in the Stadium, and I guarantee you'll learn more about the discussed prospects there than any other team message board on the Internet. I just haven't seen any threads like that on CZ. I don't visit every day, so perhaps I've missed them.

Yay, we finally agree about something! I too dislike Eagles fans. But they are an exception; few teams have fans like those.

And I must say this as well. There was a picture of Navorro Bowman's horrible knee injury that was posted in the Cowboys section of this board in the thread about others teams fans that was without question the most distasteful, nasty post I have ever seen. Just horrible that some fans actually get enjoyment in other teams' players injuries. Absolutely awful. And then you make quite possibly the most ironic quote I have seen, "Dallas Cowboys fans are by far the most decent and classiest of all sports fans."

Edit: and if I recall correctly, you liked that post. Unbelievable. Truly horrible.

I dont remember the post you are referring to. Yea, its distasteful to celebrate an injury, but you have to make a distinction between fandom and celebrating an injury like that in real life situations. I know its real life for the player, but as fans who get wrapped up in the moment of sports its really not near as bad as you make it out to be. Its simply passionate fans celebrating that a team that they hate has a casualty in the realm of the sports arena. Its not so much directed at the player as an individual as it is to the overall team and fan base as a whole. So I think you overreact a bit in light of what it really is. I understand your point and dont disagree generally, but IMO I odnt think its really as horrible as you make it out to be.

Now, Im sure there are fans that really do celebrate it too much and there are prob exceptions to what I have described, but generally speaking its just passionate fans.

You want something really disgusting and over the top when it comes to a player injury? When Michael Irvin lay on the field at the Vet with a neck injury and the whole stadium cheered as he was rolled off the field immobilized - that was distasteful.

The thread I was referring to is a recent one, on the first page of main forum here.

And while I don't remember the Irvin incident and wasn't present, I agree that that is very distasteful. Something I would have a very hard time forgiving...

Read the article about what Michael Irvin said about the Philly fans.

Yea I made that post and you have taken it out of context. It was a comical suggestion to the OP complaining that fans were blowing up his facebook page. Why anyone would jump to the conclusion that someone is taking joy in a players injury based on that makes no sense. Nobody that has any respect for the sport or the players would actually take joy in a players injury and anyone that would probably wouldn't take the time to become a member of an online community for any amount of time. I make fun of rubber knee 3 and for years made fun of McNabbs losers limp that he would get regularly. I would love to see Bowman in a Cowboy uniform and have allot of respect for everything McNabb done but RG has only impressed me with potential so far but plenty of people still have the ability to joke about things. Until someone is on your team page or at your stadium or in your yard making fun of someones injuries you shouldn't act like it's this big dramatic horrible incident.

Why would he wear anything other than a suit to the White House?

I lived in Skins territory spending 30 years of my life around idiots obsessed with all things Dallas Cowboys 24/7/365. I know what all Skins fans are like and there isnt a one who has any class or decency when it comes to football. I treat all of you with the same respect and dignity I witnessed and received for that 30 yr period.

Going on 20 years living in the area, he ain't that far off.

Most of us come on this forum because we want to have a nice football convo with non-Commanders fans and a good rival. It's just a tad annoying when the response we receive is the same 5 statements every single time. Yeahhhhhhh RGKNEEEEE will be injured by week 2, Yeahhhhh have fun overpaying for a top 15 WR. Yeahhhhhh good old Commanders overpaying for everyone. We aren't looking for a OMG the Commanders are amazing, just sick of reading the same thing over and over.

Cowboys get scorched by the media and in any and every public forum where anyone with a keyboard can comment so some of us are lookin to dish it back out. I'm more optimistic about the skins season than most because because of the lack of expectations and Alfred Morris but when Tony Romo is gettin blasted by the media and everyone else it's kinda hard to get on the RG bus.

Hell if you think thats annoying try being a Cowboy fan and going to Dallascowboys.com and try to have a nice football convo.

Its interesting that Skins fans come here looking for good football discussion, when all most Cowboy fans care about related to the Skins is that they suck every year. My only interest in them is that they lose every game they play.

I'm confused then, .. if it is as bad as you say, ... why are you still here? Or here at all in the first place?

But my favorite is the skin fan who comes on our board, and said he will put people on ignore.

LOL, you can't make stuff like that up. I mean what is the point?

That is too funny, ... disturbing, ... but very funny.

You are less disturbed, but more annoyed that the blatant trolling will be a waste of time on me as I post on about football and various other topics.

Now that I think about it, it's hilarious. He spent all that time looking for or creating memes....LMBO!!!!

I'm surprised the very simple solution to your dilemma does not occur to you.

If you'd ever lived around Skins fans it wouldnt surprise you at all.

It'd be like a lefty tree hugging liberal posting on a Tea Party Forum and suggesting he came to discuss gay rights and raising taxes because the government is the solution to every world problem and then wonder why he's getting laughed at and nobody taking him seriously.

For those wondering - NFL players participate in a pretty awesome Play60 event for kids at the White House Easter Egg Roll. That's likely why he was dressed as such.
