what do you guys and gals think we do about this position? do we still try to trade for Roy,quan, or ocho? is jerry planning on just using what we have now?

Trading for one of those 3 is pretty much out of the question. Why in the world would any of those teams trade for picks 12 months away when they could have, if they wished, got picks from Saturday?

We go with what we have and hope TGlenn is viable. Maybe a decent vet will get cut and we take a look?

It has to have become even more increasingly difficult to get any of those 3 now that the draft is over.

I think we're going ahead with what we've got.

Hopefully they can nurse Glenn along for the first part of the season and then use him more over the last month of the regular season.

I don't particularly like what we've got after the top 3. Austin's hands are bad. Hurd gets no separation. Stanback was out with an injury for a long time, played one game and got re-injured. This doesn't do much for your development when you are changing positions.

We just got stuck in a bad situation with the going rate for #2 WRs in FA and a very weak WR draft.

My guess is we'll compensate by using two TE sets more and use Felix Jones in a Reggie Bush type role.

Anything is possible!
We have an extra 3rd and 4th rounder to use in trade talks.
Anything can happen, Players can get cut, Ocho could just become such a headache they finally give in, especially with them drafting 3 W.R.'s in the draft two of which were in the 1st three rounds.

Boldin could possibly still be had!
Maybe no one this year when the cowboys picked was worth trading for!
But maybe now with the draft over, and maybe we UP our offer knowing we didn't come away with a W.R., who knows!

A nice vet could be cut on June 1st, maybe we go to camp and see how Terry Glenn looks, cause if he looks good, we're looking good at W.R. with T.O. and Glenn starting with Crayotn back to his natualy position as the #3 W.R. and we'll see how much Stanbach has improved!

If I'm Jerry, I'm offering up next years 1st rounder (pick #32) and BOTH our 3rd round picks and a 4th rounder for Roy Williams, that's a lot of picks to pass up for a guy who wants a long term deal that the Lions don't really wanna pay!
We'll still have a 2nd and 4th rounder for next years draft, so it's only like we'd be giving up a 1st and 3rd bsically, which translates into a 2nd and 4th for this years draft since future picks value are worth a round lower!
I don't knwo about you, but if I'm the Lions, adding a 1st round pick, TWO 3rd round picks AND a 4th round pick for Roy Williams, I'm all over that, ESPECIALLY if I know we aren't planning on re-signing him long term, and If I'm Jerry, I have no problem giving that up since they're all late picks #32 in each round and Roy Williams puts us over the top for a superbowl win!

There's no reason for their respective teams to trade them now for next year's draft picks.

I think that Jones' comments are in reference to a veteran being cut during the summer.

Or a much lesser candidate who is on the bubble being traded for a late round pick rather than simply being cut.

The WRs in this draft were terrible. ATE was the first receiver of any kind picked. I was happy it was Dustin Keller but that speaks volumes for the low quality this year. With the extra picks next year look for them to do at WR what they did with the CBs this year.

The asking price for guys like R. Williams and A. Boldin could change.

If things get ugly anything is possible.

I got the impression (and I could be wrong) that Jerry wouldn't be afraid to into the season with what we currently have. Especially since he feels we have upgraded the TE and RB positions.
