This. It's like you can almost predict how things will turn out ahead of time. We are the polar opposite of the New England Patriots. Nothing they do ever turns out bad. I swear they could take the team from Boston College, put thme in Patriots uniforms with Brady, and they would win the division. You could put last year's NFC Pro Bowl team in Cowboys uniforms and they would miss the playoffs.

Strong organizations/franchises/teams find a way to win, more often then not.

The others struggle from year to year.

This stuff aint easy....But, they are all getting paid well.

It's been a brutal season. Not just injuries and play calls, either. The turnover thing is perplexing. And even things where the team has covered itself--like putting Cole Beasley on returns, not because he's a dynamic returner, but because he's reliable back there--aren't working out. It's incredibly frustrating.

I'm resigned to the fact that we are not making the playoffs and I honestly don't think we will win a game until Romo comes back.

And that may be a good thing for us.

We might go 5-11 and get a nice draft position. Possibly trade down and get 2 first rounders and make one a QB and another a FS which are entirely possible if you trade down a bit to gain an extra 1st rounder.

Then we could be an even better team for 2016 and be setup where we could have that eventual replacement for Romo and have a softer schedule.

We will make the playoffs. We're one back in the loss column. The Giants aren't a good team. They will collapse. We will get in with 9-7 or 10-6 and be the hottest team in the league.

maybe. But if we are putting money on it, to make all our predicitons worth anything at all, Im going with 7-9.

Anybody putting money on the Cowboys making the playoffs?

I swear, this team is snake-bit this season. It just seems like nothing is going right. When August rolled around, and Dallas looked to have had a great off season, a first round bye looked like a sure thing.

We knew the Cowboys had to wait four games for McClain and Hardy. There is no anticipating the key injuries the Cowboys would suffer. The impact of all of this has brought much frustration to the Cowboys and their fans. Murphy's Law is in full swing deep in the heart of Texas.

Somehow, some way, the pendulum of fortune has got to swing back in Dallas' favor. Maybe the most frustrating part of all of this is that Dallas just does not take the ball away anymore. The Cowboys seem to give the ball away pretty well. They are just not making their own luck.

I don't like blaming officiating, but that PI call on Devin Street was costly. Despite all of the other miscues, had Dallas got that TD by McFadden that they truly deserved, Dallas would not have had to go for it on 4th down late in the game. They could have kicked a field goal and put the game in overtime. For the 4th Dallas-Giants game in a row, the refs screwed the Cowboys on a crucial call. The other three were Giants fumbles that were given back to them.

Bottom line, the Cowboys have to make their own luck.

Yeah, the Cowboys got screwed on that call but these excuses are getting old and it's just the Cowboys. I hate to say this but the Giants got screwed twice in the first game and both of those penalties were crucial. The bs PI penalty on 3rd down in the end zone resulted in a 1st and goal which resulted in a TD. The non PI call on 4th down ended the game for the Giants. The NFL even admitted they blew those calls.

Point being, it happens to every team almost every week. The Cowboys had their chances and ultimately they didn't get it done.

On the turnover thing, it's not for lack of effort. I see guys ripping, and that woulda-been pick by Jones was incredible. Too bad it hit the turf on the hop. Jones is going to be really good - and I'm ready to see him stick at FS. Zone corners are much easier to find in this league than quality safeties.
