Will CeeDee be the main target?

I like Cooper buddy. You come across as some kind of cooper cry baby. Lamb wears a star too. Ill never understand you fans that hate one player because you like another.

It was a great run by Cooper the 2nd half of that year along with Dak. Lets remember that it was pretty much Cooper and NO ONE else to throw to. I have no doubts that Lamb will blow away Coopers mild stats when it's all said and done. Not hard to do when your only putting up 900-1100 yards per season.

Cooper is great, but he didnt have the heart or the competitiveness to be one of the greats. If he did he would still be here.

But again.........at least you admit you were wrong again. Although, like before, as a kid would do it.

Just for the record I was never a fan of Dallas giving up a #1 for Amari or signing him to the big contract. To me he was the same guy the Raiders traded away.

Whatever you think happened you came to the right conclusion. That Lamb was the #1 target last year. You also confirmed by watching two games that Cooper was in fact, not double teamed all the time like many claimed.

Sorry bro, Cooper had 725 yards in 2018. His best season as a pro in yards was 2019 with 1189 yards. Lamb was on pace for nearly 1400 yards his rookie year before Dak went down and came close to beating that 1189 yards last year. LOL

Cooper got expunged for a reason. Its LAMB TIME!!!!

YOu cant see the talent, but you will see the results soon enough.

Cooper might actually have a great season over in Cleveland if their QB doesnt get suspended. But Cooper will have to stay healthy and not disappear some games like he usually does.

Lamb had one game last season without amari playing, against KC.
he had 3 catches for a whopping 14 yds !
he really came thru for the cowboys in that big game lol.

This season will tell the story on lamb.

Well here's my take on why CD led the team in targets and receptions last year. Since he played in the slot he was Dak's go to guy. Simply because our QB was friggin afraid of throwing that damn ball further away than an armlength.

I literally jumped up in my seat everytime he hit Gallup on the sideline far out, because that was so rare.

Let's see how Dak and CD connect when they use Lamb as a regular wide out.

It's an awful risk the FO is taking here with Dak and this receiver squad. If it pays off, cudos to them.

I dont recall mentioning lattimore or the saints at all. I dispute that Lamb gets open simply because Cooper is drawing all the double coverage. Its BS.

Thats not to say that Cooper never was doubled or that anyone else wasn't doubled at times.

Lamb is a total and complete stud and its obvious. Lamb gets the ball because he gets open, period!! Lamb was in the slot, out wide, he was everywhere. The guy can do it all. Hell they even give it to him on end arounds, straight handoffs and WR screens.

If anything, I feel like having Cooper held him back on what he was capable of.

The saints game cooper was only targeted twice and had two catches
But just because cooper helped him get open doesn’t mean he can’t get open without cooper
Lamb will be fine
On 3rd and 5 it doesn’t matter who the play is called to go to. It matters who is open 5 yards or more down the field because that’s who the ball should go to anyway

When was the last time Dallas had a main target? Was it Irvin? It seems they spread the ball around and run schemes to get a guy open. I haven't seen them ask a receiver to just beat your guy because the ball in coming in a long time. There may have been some plays with Romo throwing it up to Dez but I'm not sure Dez was consistently a main target.

not how most defensive schemes work and you can argue with everyone until you are blue in the face but many times the best CB doesn't follow the best WR they take the next guy totally shut them down and the WR they truly want to stop gets doubled. How about them beans..

AC was not so great he was making it easier for everyone else.. he was great at times but he went half speed many times , was out of many plays , and never truly showed up in a big game where he dominated to point he was unstoppable.

his career stats, his yearly stats are just enough to make him a#1 IE need a comparable stat to dominate see Dez Bryant's 3 straight years over 1200 yards and double digit TDs the dude was elite for 3 years in row..Dez also had passion and drive was motivated to be the best not just do enough.. injuries sidelines the guy after he got paid and of course this fan base was upset at his contract and called him one trick pony and wanted him gone accused him of taking the money and then not playing hard and not true at all..the same thing goes on here with zeke and other players who were truly great and at the top of their games when they got paid and deserved it,

dudes content to just be good to be great, hes never stepped up and had signature year and now on his 3rd team. sure great route runner, so what, he lacked passion and motivation to be the best and wasn't even the best here hes so far down on my list its crazy..I mean the dudes never even had year like Miles Austin had and that was short stint..people can knock guys like Dez and TO for their passion where at times it got the best of them in the sidelines etc ill take that all day every day over AC who seemed to just show up to be good that day..IM not sure AC makes the DC top 10 all-time Wry. Maybe just gets in but weve had truly great wrs that all have had at least 1 elite year if not many.

AC has not had one season like that EVER..hes a solid #1 but hes being severely overrated..

throwing it up LMAO dez had 3 straight elite years he was the target and ran more routes than just jump balls and was by far better than AC those years, AC has not had one single signature year, dez had 3 straight and has his best money taken away by bad call in big game....

Seriously a QBs job is to find the open player first its look for the primary and when not there go to the open guy..i meant isn't rocket science but force feeding one guy every game just because you wan them to be the main guy and rack up stats isnt how offenses move the ball, that would be easy to defense.

We prefer to take what the defense "gives us". Also known as letting the defense dictate what we do on offense. Also known as Ray Lewis laughing at us about how easy it is to manipulate us into doing whatever they wanted. Dez was definitely a beast and he certainly ran more routes than the jump ball. He was so good at getting the 50/50 ball that it made me wonder if they targeted him with it like described in the OP because they knew he would go get it.

I think the first month would be great time to rediscover a run game, play great defense and yes in those games where we are short Wrs, you target a guy like CD let his go after it..play more 2 TEs have CD as the primary and use PA to target CD A LOT.. it doesn't mean this needs to be our offense all season but sometimes necessity is the mother of invention.

I hope that MM is in Moores ear about working on schemes like this until Gallups back and another WR steps up..no need for 3-4 wr sets.,i mean the first half of last season the run game setup the pass and it was the best half of the year,

lets do more of that. the key is the OL and run game and play great defense where the offense doesn't need to score 30 to win.

I expect Lamb to see more targets than other WR but in the end the object is not forcing balls to players it is finding the open man. I don't want Dak forcing the ball if any WR is covered, I expect him to go to the next read and find the open man, throw it away or take a sack worse case but do not force balls that lead to ints. It is not a 1 man game it is football and there is a reason teams use 2 other WR and a TE or RB out of the backfield. If it is not there do not force it fine the next man.

On 3rd and 5, when we need a big play or a score, will Lamb be our go to guy? On other teams you see teams make their main guy their go to guy in big situations. At times last season, it's basically who ever is open, they will get the ball from Dak.

If we gave up a twenty million dollar wide out, to let the young guy behind him be the star, I think it's time to make him the focus. We should be so good at doing it, that teams KNOW he's getting the ball, but still can't stop him!!

I mean is that asking too much, we see it happen every Sunday with the top wide outs getting the ball. I hope Kellen is working hard this off season to ensure this is the focus of our passing game. Of course I want others to get plays too, but you look his way first!!! Give me your thoughts.....

lets not forget how Cooper hesitated in blocking , or engaging in certain plays. he was lackadaisical on many snaps and seems to be up and down despite his talent. No way he is worth 20 mil with the availablity if Cee Dee and others.

Cee dee will shine if Dak can get him the ball more.
