Remember the year , is it 2019 ? I Am getting old .. lol, when we went with Allen hurns, etc . As WRs ( of course this year is not as bad as that ) but couple of games into the season spent a 1st round pick for Amari .

I dont want this season be as bad, I still have hope one of the young ones , Tolbert , Vasher, Fehoko , Houston will step up and provide some sparks but don’t know at this point , may be preseason will clarify, But some genius has decided Dak wont play the pre season except 3rd game. Go figure !!!!

I just don't think this team is one receiver away from contending for a Super Bowl. We'll either win as a team or lose as a team.
But my approach is go with what we've got and let our high-priced offensive players shoulder most of the load. Just tell/teach the receivers to be where they need to be when Dak gets rid of the ball.

No one can accurately say right now.

But how are our young guys suppose to develop if they're not getting any real playing time?

Dak is a seasoned vet right now. So, I think the offense can be productive without, top notch receivers. Lamb, Shultz and a bunch of role players should be enough.

How many games is Gallup going to miss. If our O-Line and RBs are healthy we will run and dink and dunk for a while. And I think he is expecting more out of his rookies.

Teams will have to cut players three times in August to gradually get down to 53.

Aug 16 cut down to 85 man roster
Aug 23 cut down to 80 man roster
Aug 30 cut down to 53 man roster

It's entirely possible that one of the players cut on one of the 31 other teams could be a good WR3 or WR4 with some game experience.

Just like us, if they are eligible they go on the practice squad.

That was the intention for bringing on Cooper. To take Dallas deep in the playoffs. What a $100 million disappointment/waste he was. Now the Jones ' will stay away from veteran WR's. Can't say I blame them.

As of this moment the Cowboys seem to want to go with what they have at WR. They want to give these inexperienced young players a chance. It could really come back to bite them once they enter the regular season and realize there’s a problem. If they don’t like what they see in preseason they’ll likely make a move.

Thats the problem with this team. Has been for a long time.

Reactive. Not proactive.

First of all, it was 2018 season when we traded for Coop. Not 2019 season. And the situation we are in is not same as the 2018 season like many are posting.
The best WRs going in to the 2018 season probably was Beasley and TWill but Twill played 3 games before going on IR. And Beasley isn't as versatile or as good as CeeDee. We also didn't have someone as good as current MG coming back later in 2018 season. More importantly, Dak is much better QB now and can do more with lesser receivers than he could in 2018.

Yeh it would be nice to have more options, but I don't agree current WR situations is as bad as 2018 season.

Yes… we tried the “WR by committee “ approach a few years ago and ended up trading for Coop.

This FO struggles to learn from their mistakes. Cutting Coop and trying to replace his production/influence in the offense by signing Washington and drafting Tolbert was ALREADY dubious to begin with…

Now that Washington is hurt and they are maintaining their stance that “nah— we’re good” when it comes to FA additions is arrogant and fool hearty

I've always contended we gave up too much for him. I honestly believe he could have been had for a second. Then to dump him after two years? What a waste. :(

I understand Jerry wanting to see how his young WR's perform before signing a Vet WR but given that other teams will suffer WR injuries, the cupboard may be bare if they wait too long.
The Cowboys will probably be looking at WR's released at the end of camp but that will give them no time to work on chemistry with Dak or pick up the playbook in a timely fashion.
Check back on a few weeks....we should know by then...any opinions right now are just opinions.
My opinion, there isn't anyone out their that excites me. Let the kids play.

Why because you think all the young guys suck? Or is it because you have no clue?

This is just Jerry. Again. Would rather prove how smart he is about football than bring in someone and show he was wrong. His ego is this teams biggest weakness

NO, this is NOT Jerry. When has Jerry been stubborn like this often with sticking with the young guys?

This is new. Personally, I like it. Doenst mean it will work.

Personally I think he’s saying “I don’t want to admit I was wrong giving Cooper away for nothing” lol. But that’s just me

Why because Washington got hurt? When are you going to understand that this is ALL ABOUT Cooper and Lamb and THATS IT!

Cooper was gone the MOMENT they drafted Lamb. Once they knew Lamb was the real deal, why pay Cooper 21 million for the next 3 years?

Its common sense, roster management. Stop thinking about THIS YEAR ONLY!
