Will Dez play the next game and QB decision

sorry but the giants are best in the league against the rush,we are not beating them with Weeden who cant make any throws except the checkdown with confidence.

In a PC Garrett said bone has to heal and Dez has to practice first. With that being said I don't see a start vs NYG, maybe against Seattle. If the bone hasn't healed so my guess is another few weeks away.

While I get why they don't want to bench Weeden from their perspective
I thought once the game was out of hand yesterday we might get Cassel some reps
Personally I rather take a shot with Cassel but the staff seems to think Weeden gives them the best chance
It's not like they want to lose games so I assume the sincerely believe Weeden is the better option

If Dez' possible return were a consideration, Garrett would have begged off more when asked the QB question. By saying we're looking into it, it means Cassell is now in the driver seat, Dez or no-Dez. We'll look at him in practice for a day or two to confirm it's not insane to play him, and then make the announcement to kill the endless speculation.

This had to have been all decided in advance of yesterday's game, too.

NFCE games are always hard fought and close. With 2 weeks to prepare for the Giants and our familiarity with their personnel-- I think we are in a very winnable situation. I would love to see what Cassel can do-- but regardless, we need more from our OL and ground game for any QB to succeed in this offense.

It seems that Dez has a good chance to play after the bye.

I wonder if the Cowboys will convince themselves that Weed can win if Dez is playing.

Normally, I would think they look at the Pats game and think they have to try something different and the only real option is a change at QB; however, if Dez is returning they might think that is the change.

On defense they'll probably look at what Hardy and the defense did to Brady early in the game and think that if they do that to Eli he'll start throwing up picks and completely unravel.

The Hardy defense combined with Dez against an opponent that is NOT the Patriots could look good enough to team management to just keep trying Weed at QB.

It does seem that if they had Hardy and Dez in the Falcons and Saints games that they would have won those.

I guess I should see if there is any preseason game footage of Cassell. I really have no idea what he offers at this point in his career.

Cassell was always a more aggressive QB then Weeden. In fact it was his undoing in KC.

Now " more aggressive " may not turn out to be a good thing, but I think it gives us the best chance to field a quality offense until Romo comes back. Kitna was the same way

The rest of the team has got to help our backup QBs. So far they have failed.

This is my worry. Garrett will convince himself that Weeden can win when Dez gets back. The reality is the guy doesn't throw down field even when someone gets open and when he does he's late like he was yesterday trying to find T-Will. Got lucky he wasn't picked off. The man just cannot get it done. If the Cowboys seriously are gonna continue to start him might as well forfeit the season.

And when he does throw the ball down field, he has no touch. It's always a rocket that sails over the top of everyone.

Let's face it, he cannot read a defense, and has the worst pocket presence.

No touch + cannot read the defense + no pocket awareness = disaster!

No wonder he's 0 for 12 as a starter. Time for a change under center. Dez simply returning won't help Weeden clean these things up. #3 is in over his head.
