The one thing he has on his side is that he is not an OL.

Parcells choices at OL have been a particularly beleaguered lot:

Flo - torn ACL
Rivera - back, neck, elbows
Al Johnson - knee
Rogers - knee, shoulder
Peterman - knee
Ryan Young - knee
Genarro DiNapoli - ankle

Amongst guys who made it to the starting lineup, only Tucker was spared and he is now with the Bucs. Pettiti made it through his first year but he was pretty banged up by the end.

OTOH, the guys who were already here when he came seem to have stayed relatively "healthy" - Allen, Gurode, Matt Lehr, Tyson Walter.

Anyhow, hopefully Fasano does well - if he can match Witten's rookie year we will be sitting pretty. He should be quite a bit more polished than Witten who only played TE at Tennessee for two years before being drafted. Playing in a similar offensive system at ND should also ease his transition.

I was not happy when he was picked , but that being said , I think he will be a good player for the Cowboys for many years...

They found a plate and screws in his back when he was getting examined before the draft this offseason. I don't think he would have been a first rounder, but he'd definitely been higher on a lot of people's draft boards barring that discovery.

This sort of stuff happens all the time. Folks are born with plates and screws in their backs -- usually this is passed down from the father's side. Amazing the genetic defects you find at the combine.

Ha. Actually chuckled out loud. The implication of course was that Fasano attempted to keep this a secret, but the extensive physicals discovered it.

I think many of those picks had injury problems and missed games while in college.
To my knowledge Fasano only missed one game due to back spasms.

Either way let's hope that the curse or just bad luck does not continue.

A lot of people here talked about his ale-ments ... I mean ailments. So this was false? All this time I thought he was injury prone. Good news.:)

you mean common rumor?
No, I meant knowledge. It was common knowledge that it was reported. It was discussed in several threads. Whether the report is a rumor or not is a different question. As I stated earlier in the thread it appears that it was an unsubstantiated rumor.

knowledge would mean that it's fact, which it clearly wasnt, "I heard on another board" isn't fact

I think an interview was posted on this board after the draft and a reporter asked either Parcells, Jerry Jones or Stephen Jones about the injury and they said they had no knowledge of it. Basically, they looked into it and it wasn't true. You would figure they did more research on it than we have.

Actually it is. It is also a fact that it was common knowledge that it was reported. Facts can be true or false, but their falsity doesn't make them any less facts.

Well that's certainly good to hear. If this fact is true, that is.

You're right he is pretty good. But he missed how many games his rookie year? 8 I think and how many last year 5 or 6?

I believe it was 7 or 8 as a rookie...he didnt miss 5 or 6 games last yr however

and regardless, it doesnt take away from the fact he's been a very good player
