Stephens won’t make 53, Fehoko looks a step slow and a dollar short of paying off . If Tolbert is 4 and Brooks continues camp / PS success if it came down to Houston or Fehoko , good bye Simi .

I don’t see an issue in the Qb room . Who’s available that’s head and shoulders above what Dallas has 2 & 3 . I suspect Rush gets 3 quarters against Seattle next week .
Stephens is going to make the team.

Will Grier pretty much looked like the same QB I saw last year in preseason. He continues to miss too many throws. Would never want to see him during the regular season. He’s definitely not going to overtake Cooper Rush. He didn’t look great either, but only missed on two throws and didn’t make any mistakes.

Will Grier has the talent to become a solid backup QB, but he commits a lot of costly mistakes.
He doesnt have the temperament to be game manager , he takes unnecessary risks , Rush didnt dazzle also but the OL was stinking big time against starters on Jacks D.

Stephens was converted from WR to TE I believe. In order to have more TE’s when Schoonmaker was on NFI.
They can always move him back to WR.

I like his size, a type of player they been lacking. A big tall fast player that can also be utilized in the end zone.

I believe Stephens will make the 53. He’s hot right now and trending up

You get him for 4 years as McKeon will be a FA next season
Very good point. I think if it comes down to McKeon and Stephen’s and they’re somewhat close the nod should go to Stephens. Stephens has more potential and will be with us 3 more seasons. We’ve already invested time in McKeon and if Stephens is at his level now, then it’s a no brainer. Also a factor will be if Stephens can block, at all, or as good as McKeon. Blocking may be a weakness in his game but even then I say keep him over McKeon. Stephens looks like a good route runner with soft hands and he is a matchup nightmare. I’d love for him to get some snaps in the redzone.

I just have to hold off until at least game 3. Because there weren't many reps prior to the game and the jags had there number ones out there for crying out loud.

Grier’s arm looks weak. Made some mistakes with the ball and didn’t play a clean game by any stretch. Rourke looked tons better than he did.

Stephens has a chance to knock McKeon off the roster. But we can’t go heavy at TE, RB, and OL. Gotta make some tough calls.

My guess is they go with 3 TEs and hope to stash Stephens on the PS.
Man, didn't see that at all. Grier's arm looked very good.

Played crappy at first, but then came out and played well.

Stephens is just a Pre slot filler. Won't make team. W/ Fergie/Hendershot/Schooner, there's no place on the roster for him. I thought he looked rather slow.

Grier made a number of brain fart throws. He's fine when he takes what's there but seems like sometimes he will just heave the ball into a crowd and hope for the best. I don't know what to make of it except I don't think the coaches will trust him to be the #2.

Why are we wasting our time with Grier? He clearly isn't much of a QB, and he isn't going to beat out Rush for the backup job, so why waste time on a guy who might have half a career if he ever develops? In my opinion, it would be more fruitful to have drafted a QB or signed a UDFA QB to develop who at least has a full career ahead of them if they have potential.

Grier is a solid backup to me. He's good enough to keep 3 QB's on the squad at the very least (and I'd be shocked if we didn't). Arm talent is there, the key is just to remind him to keep taking what the defense gives him. Sometimes I think he forces that. But we've had some bad backups and I don't think he's a bad backup. If he had to start some games he'd move the ball consistently and put up some points and probably make a few mistakes as well. I'll take that over a backup who just flat out can't put points on the board. I'm content with both of our backups for now.

He could actually look better wil the 1s. It's hard to say with the olinemen that he is playing with.

In place of who? McKeon?

They kept 4 TEs last year, because those guys can play STs.

Stephens will make the team get looked real good
He did look good, but I wonder what we would do to keep him. Would we cut McKeon as the fourth TE even though he's a better blocker? Would we cut Hendershot instead even though he had some success for us last year? We're not keeping five TEs. I could see us putting McKeon back on the PS, though, if Stephens shows too much as a receiving TE to risk him to waivers.

I thought we might keep three TEs and Luepke as a FB this year, but I'm not seeing enough with Luepke to do that. Stephens is having a better camp. I don't think that's all Luepke's fault, though. I think we're treating him more as a big RB than a fullback.
