Will Grier joins coaching staff as offensive assistant

This is a good thing. Maybe he was more valuable in the room than on the field. We couldn’t know.

Plus he could actually suit up if things get seriously dire.

"No Experience Necessary"

That's Jerry's coaching hire business philosophy.

Not like we've got 30 years of this same crap as proof.
I think they just essentially added a job for him so that he can get his feet wet as a coach. It's not like they fired the QB coach and replaced him with Grier. It's probably more of an apprenticeship. Kind of like bringing in an intern.

Is there an over under on how many games into the season before someone starts floating the idea that Will Grier should be the HC?

And thats because Jerry likes to get them right out of the hatch before they can pick up bad habits and influences.

Only then can he mold successful football minds.....a bare canvass if you will

Exactly....guys like Marcus Dixon, our new DL coach started in a similar fashion. Lots of other former players not just for Dallas have been given jobs like this and it is a chance for them to work their way up.
Notice he's hired as an 'offensive assistant' ...........meaning he could have several duties.

I figured this would happen. If not before TC, then during.
As he was supposed to sign with the Panthers I believe. Then if released, he would end up on the Cowboys staff.

He's basically the assistant to the assistants intern.. Not a big deal. He has to start somewhere

These are elite coaching positions that should only go to the very best in the world, not "we like our guys" former players. 99.99% of players do not go on to become good coaches. How did the Garrett hire go for us?

You are supporting the Jerry status quo, and you wonder why I am negative.
most coaches are former players.
I guess you missed that memo
