I am open to anything even another DE but ideally i want to trade out of the first and get an extra third rd pick.

Good question, I like your thought process.. I'm hoping for that big guy to compliment Crawford in the middle...

Eddie Goldman would be solid pickup at 27 imo. I also like Kevin Johnson at that spot too. I'd also heavily consider a RB if Gurley or Gordon were to fall to us.

I felt like DT was our biggest need going into the offseason.

It's just hard to find those guys that can collapse the pocket up the middle.

Believe the Cowboys will keep to the BPA at #27 or possibly trade down. Will be interesting to see who comes in for a visit because one of those 30 or so prospects that visit Valley Ranch will most likely be the pick. One thing is that we should expect the unexpected.

Even with Hardy on board (keeping fingers crossed), I would not mind them going after the BEST DT available at that spot---and I think one will be there at that point. My preference is Malcom Brown. That guy is a stud and next to Hardy, will really perform. He is the great penetrating DT that we need. I don't think you would be reaching for Brown at #27. Only drawback is that the Cowboys are not known for picking UT players, much less at #1.
Making the DL strong and nasty just like the OL would be my dream. We really need that pass rush. .

So if the Boys get cold feet-----I'll go with Gurley/Gordon.

You hang tight to see if Malcom Brown slips. I'm not big on Jordan Phillips and Eddie Goldman. I feel like Armstead is a LDE in a 3-4 or 4-3 who slides inside on passing downs, but I can see teams viewing him as a 4-3 DT.

I like Xavier Cooper and Michael Bennett in the 2nd round but they would be Tyrone Crawford's back-up.

I know Risen Star will hate it but the value at pick 27, assuming no one slips, is CB.

RB is still very much an option and I think people are sleeping on WR.

BPA, thats what good 12-4 teams do when you don't have gaping holes like years past.

I would not discount ILB (depending on Rolando situation) Kendricks is going to be a player.

Malcolm Brown would be the guy I'd like to see, if it's a DT. Enough size to play 1-technique and enough quickness to consistently get penetration.

Pretty clear where I stand on this subject...the 1tech is so overlooked by fans due to one draft and possibly by some on the coaching staff BUT....so was the Guard position and Dallas picked an All-Pro at the least valued position on the OL. Hey...they even spent a 1st on the second least valued position the year before and got a Pro Bowler from Wisconsin.

Grab a 1st round 1tech and complete this DL after signing Hardy.

I disagree. A signing like this on the DL IMO increases the chances you see a CB,OL or RB selected at 27. Similarly talented DT will be available late in the 2nd.

I agree we need a real good dt out there. Hardy cant do it all by himself. Ive got faint in lawerence and mincey but nobody else on the line.

Still like MLB in this Draft first round...value could be at DT or CB ... and Safety still has to be a concern.

Wow at least on paper, Hardy makes this team better....way better.

Depending on who is there at other positions, I'm okay with Brown or Goldman at 27.
The ones listed > Goldman are more trade-down candidates, imo.

Also, we DO have some young DTs on the team that we don't know enough about to write-off.
