Hire a full time general manager that has experience evaluating NFL personnel, among other things. Don't you want your favorite team run by someone dedicated to football full time?

the gm doesn't even have to have experience I would settle for someone who watches the games and then vents on a message board.

Yes. But I have seen some poor GMs not named Jerry too. Have we made any terrible trades or have poor personnel right now?

Yes it has. Richest franchise in the world. He now makes more on his real estate empire (including the stadium - which is far more than just Cowboy games) so the Boy are now a nice toy for him to keep shining and hope the genie comes out.

genie isnt coming out. Jerry looks worse by the week the genie isnt coming out with him alive

It's very doubtful.

The only way to tell is if he hires one single coach before he hires a head coach then it will be obvious the answer is no and he has no intention of hiring a coach and give give that much power.

That will drastically narrow down those wishing to come here.
The only way is Jones allowing another competent NFL candidate take control as his team's general manager and allow for a different perspective. Any other action is just another example of Jones doing the same things over again.

Jerry appoints head coaches but he doesn't empower them. Until that changes, the results will remain the same.

That's why all this talk about coaches, contracts, QB's, free agents, offense, defense is pointless.
Doesn't matter what changes until he is just gone....

He needs to stay away from the players. He builds personal relationships with these players then he over plays them because he likes them. Some one has gotten in his ear and told him to stay off the sidelines but that doesn't stop him from getting emotionally involved.

So our new coach will not be allowed to move on from certain players and certain coaches, because Jerry says so. Its a business and he should treat it as such.

I don't see Drunk in the Box changing. I won't be surprised if he waits til the last minute to fire Clappy the Clown so that all the non puppet candidate coaches are already hired...

The personnel is a hell of a lot better than what Philly trotted out on that field, yet we lost. Cowboys personnel is a lot better than what the Steelers have yet they have a better record I think.

His philosophy is to maximize his fame via as much radio/video/print exposure he can grab and nothing changes until the day he's completed incapacitated or 6 feet under

anything or anyone that threatens his limelight will be shown the door (or never let in the building in the first place)

we're going on 25 years of this nonsense, face it folks, it ever getting better, this who the jeri and spawn Dallas Cowboys are

That's the thing, like coaches, terrible GMs can be fired. It's about accountability. Of which there is absolutely none in Dallas. Yes, we've made terrible trades and personnel decisions, are you kidding me? Have you been under a rock for two decades?

Now, I'm not suggesting this should happen, but at this point I think the only thing that will change his mind is a 7.62mm round. O

Really as fans we are screwed until the grim reaper comes to claim his pickled soul. I'm not hoping he dies or wanting him to die...just resigned to the fact that the team is hosed until he does die.

He might switch up the alcohol in his flask but this man is entrenched into the idea of who he thinks he is.
