Will Jerry draft a QB?

If the quarterback busts. You draft another one. I doubt Fields bust with tackles back next season. You pay Dak who has a losing record in his last season you are stuck with him like Atlanta is stuck with Ryan an Minnesota is stuck with Cousins. No young quarterback ever drafted in the top two has ever had the Cowboys weapons. Maybe Luck and his team went to the playoffs.

I just have a really hard time getting behind that when history tells us how incredibly hard it is to hit on a QB. We have a top 5ish QB in his prime in Dak...so we have to pay him and build around him IMO.

We do. The Joneses will probably sign Dak. I just want them to get the highest pick possible and keep an open mind. I am in favor of Sewell if we resign Dak.

Sure...and I'd keep an open mind to but only for Lawrence. He's about as safe a QB pick there's been since Luck so I'd probably pull the trigger for him just not for anyone else. Fields in fun, guys coming from that RPO offense have a much larger learning curve. He's a little better than prior OSU QBs, but NONE of them have panned out.

Lets play hypothetical here...

Obviously this season is over and we are fast-tracking all the way to a top-5 pick. The biggest ? This off-season will be our QB situation. The front-office was unable to get Dak signed for the past two off-seasons and now he will be coming off a major injury.

This draft has some pretty good QB prospects coming out:

Trevor Lawerence
Justin Fields
Zach Wilson
Trey Lance

If the Cowboys get a top-3 pick, how likely do you think Jerry takes a QB with our pick?

A few things to keep in mind as well:

-There arent many blue-chip/cant miss prospects in this class

-The best defensive player is a LBer

-You can franchise then trade Dak and get at least a 1st to help add players to a team thats short on talent

What say you?
Not with a 1st round pick. Don't you realize we need help on defense or are you just trolling? Haven't you seen how Dak has been playing? They're not going to waste a couple of years on a rookie that is hit or miss as all QB's are. The Cowboys have a solid core of young guys now. No time to waste on rebuilding which is what you are saying.

Should they? Yeah. Will they? Doubt it. This team won't win it with Dak unless everything goes right. In the last 25 years of Jerry running football ops that hasn't come close to happening. Bigger problem is at Jerry's age he figures he doesn't have time for a rebuild.

Jerry will make the right move if you give him no choice.

He will kick fight and scream if you don't.

Just look at how reluctant he was to find a Romo replacement and used that top 5 pick to draft Zeke.
