I hope not...

I say that because I want the Boys to have all the ammo possible to turn their first rounder next year into one of three quarterbacks-- Tim Tebow, Mark Bradford or Colt McCoy...

The Cowboys already have a fullback...

...

First off, I'll bet anybody that all three of those guys are going to be massive failures as starting QB's in the NFL (and you said Mark, I'm assuming you meant Sam B from OU).

Second, why would we need (or want) to use a 1st rd pick on a QB when we already have an all-pro calibar guy locked up longterm in Tony Romo? That makes absolutely zero sense to me. On top of that, why would we want to TRADE UP to get one? Again, it just makes no sense. Are you thinking Romo is done here after this yr or next yr or something? Do you believe Romo is a bust as a starter here?

hopefully Jerry goes into a coma on April 24th and doesn't come out of it until the 27th leaving Steven Jones running the draft, someone that has a clue what he's doing.

I would imagine that given our spot in the draft and the fact that we have 11 picks, Jerry will use a couple to trade up a few spots in the second (The 40s are where the real value lies this year, right?), and then maybe unload another mid round pick for a 2010 pick. We'll probably haul in 7 players this year from the draft, at the most. Any more than that and you're just going to cut them during training camp. It's true.

Will Jerry trade 2010 picks on draft day, to move up a round or two this year?

I don't know the ramifications of the uncapped year ... but

Just in terms of "deferred gratification" ...

Jerry traded down in the draft last year, to get better picks this year ... trading our 4 last year for a 3 this year, etc.

Do you guys think, maybe he should go the "other way" this year, and put his "credit card" down and trade a 2 next year for a 3 this year ... or even a 1 next year for a 2 this year?

Is it a good enough year, in depth of prospects, to draft a bunch of guys, or trade for picks this year ...

Or should Jerry keep his powder dry?
jerry should keep his powder dry. there is nobody really to trade up for, unless u r trying to get a backup qb or something.

I think Tony Romo is going to be playing in Dallas for a long time if people like Cory Proctor or the LT position don't get him killed. Kurt Warner is still playing. He's pushing 40.

Tony Romo is a winner for the Dallas Cowboys. Remember the 5-11 days. Other teams would give up a whole lot to get him.

If Dallas trades up next year, it will be for a LT, a LT to protect Tony Romo for the remainder of his career in Dallas.

Edit:

As far as this draft goes, teams want in the second and third rounds. That is where the value will be really good.
