People I really like this linebacker. What don't he do? He's a very good ball player. I like his skills. Why Not?

Thoughts?

If they are smart they hold on to him by any means they can.

They may have a crappy record this year but they played hard in most of their games when they could have mailed it in early.

I would only have to worry about his size in the 3-4 being only 235 lbs. He is talented though, but going up against tackles might mess up his game a little.

His play really took a dive this year coming back from injury. I'd say even if SF doesn't bring him back, don't touch him.

No, because Carolina wouldn't let him go. I like him too, but he is a stud.

Too bad for Carolina, he's a 49er.

He's not talking about Julius Peppers.....

Peterson is a freak. I've seen him line up at DE and CB in the same game. No way the 49'ers let him go, he's like their only decent player.

represented by the postons, coming off a bigtime injury, and too small for the 3-4 no thanks.

he is as good as gone. he doesnt fit their 3-4 just like he doesnt fit ours. Plus he is represented by the Postons and Nolan doesn't want to deal with their crap just like Parcells doesn't. Nolan has already said they dont plan to resign him. He supposedly will be back to full speed for next year(2nd year from injury) but I am just not a fan he will be injury prone int he 3-4. a 4-3 team will snatch him and use him how hes supposed to be used. or saban his old coach( i think) will take him.

Guess what this dude does it all.. he could cover, blitz, and stop the run... all around line-backer.. I think Parcells would get him to gain more weight

Well if he healed fine than I would have no problem with his size....a player is a player and he has done it in the pros.

However I did not know he had the postons as his agent....so that means no go here...besides a player of his skills....seriously doubt SF would let him go anywyas.

I would imagine he would cost to much, therefore, I look for us to find our LB in the draft!

I agree with Hiero, he doesn't fit the 3-4, he's not a Parcell's type...no chance he comes here.

He also played safety one year when the niners were decimated with secondary injuries. I think he'd be a good fit but as one poster said, his play went down this year and I believe he suffered another injury (not as serious). He would cost a lot of cash. I know him personally since he's from the DC area and we used to go at it because he's a die hard Skinz fan. He hates the Cowboys with a passion so I can't see it even for the money (one of those type of Skinz fans). He even two-wayed me when we were swept by them and I hadn't heard from him in a couple of years.

I don't agree with some of you guys...I think Peterson would be a great fit as Strong Side OLB...opposite Ware. I was surprised to see him listed as 6'3/235...he plays MUCH bigger then that. I would have guessed him as 6'4+ and 250 or so. He is an excellent cover LB and can absolutely explode to the QB similar to Ware. Does a great job against the run...him opposite Ware would be very exciting!

I did not know he was with the Postons either, so forget this all the way around...will never happen. If it did I would be pretty happy though.
