If he says on Monday he can't practice and won't be ready for the Texans game, does Garrett cut him since

1) he won't have proven his worth

2) send a message to players like Ratliff and Spencer that not being on the field will get you cut after the season.

I think waived/IR is more likely...I dont think you can cut a player because he is hurt. But I will say that, especially if they actually like Heath, there's a chance he has lost his opportunity.

You can waive an injured player, but you have to have an injury settlement, which is typically rather unpleasant.

I didn't think he would be cut prior to this season but I think it is more of a possibility than it used to be. I don't think we let a guy with his potential walk and let him become the next Jimmy Smith (at safety) somewhere else.

This organization has really got to stop carrying draft picks that either can't help or are often injured....if Johnson can't get on the field, time to release him...Arkin is another guy that's been carried on the 53 man roster for a couple of years and sources around the team will tell you he just isn't any good but yet the Cowboys organization doesn't seem to want to acknowledge draft pick failures by releasing him..

Not sure if serious

Jeff Heath is a player! He is always the first man down the field on special teams, he hits hard and makes plays. IR for Johnson most likely.

Football is a collision sport that not everyone is cut out to play at the highest level. I just dont see it happening for the guy. Last injury occurred just running down the field. That cant happen.

With the way the NYG are beat up in the secondary, I'd guess he would be picked up by them or someone else if cut. Health has been the issue for him so far. But, he's no good to any team if he can't stay healthy. He can't even make it through practices without getting injured.

I would guess that the Cowboys would keep him through the first cut to 75. After that, I doubt he makes the 53 unless healthy. I think the Cowboys would ultimately like to stash him on the PS to start the season. Just in case they need a safety later on down the road.

No he will 100% not be cut on Tuesday. And I think it's very likely he makes the final 53.

I don't think his position is 100% safe; IR might be an option, but the guy just can't stay on the field.
