He did hurt himself most recently break up a pass on the sideline. Irony at its finest.
Or chasing a guy from behind.

What rope has he been given? It's not like he's stuck around on the roster for a few years (or even two). I guess the team should have just cut him on the spot the first time he got injured in training camp?
He has been on the roster for 2 off seasons and has only practiced a few times and played in 2 preseason games. All from a late 4th round prospect. He was basically given the job this year, all he had to do was get on the field, which of course, he wasn't able to do.
So being one of 90 players in camp this year is in your eyes giving him more rope than you have ever seen? Give me a break.
Bill Nagy was a similar guy, who actually got to see the field and was given his walking papers a year later.
Not sure what your point is. But there has been no reason to cut Matt Johnson to this point.
Heath after one preseason game > matt johnson year and a half
I dont my hope is that by saying yes the guy would shut up..but then you chimed in
I can only hope so

We don't need to give up on him just yet as he's shown some good ability in the little preseason action we've see.
I guess he really made those 2 tackles count, huh?
If he says on Monday he can't practice and won't be ready for the Texans game, does Garrett cut him since
1) he won't have proven his worth
2) send a message to players like Ratliff and Spencer that not being on the field will get you cut after the season.
Spencer is going to leave for greener pastures.
Ratliff is more or less a goner because of his age and health.
I think a lot of it depends on what they think the corners can do on special teams coverage. I'm against cutting him because he's a 4th round pick and is only in his 2nd season. His injuries have been legitimate. But, if he can't recover quickly enough, we need to put him on I-R or the PUP list or the temporary I-R list.

Hatcher could be gone next year, too.
We may be replacing 3 starters on the DL next offseason.
Maybe we will get lucky with Bass. Either way, I think a lower priced vet DL will be brought in to start next year with a rookie, Ware, and Crawford. This is one reason some of us didn't understand the Escobar pick. If Crawford can come back next season, that will mean they only need to draft two starters for the DL next year. And that is a lot easier said than done.
