Will Matt Ryan get the same rep as Romo?

Considering your boy is backing up Tebow in Denver, I say we are going to be waiting a long, long, long time for your "I told you so" moment.:laugh2:

I figure Orton gets traded to Minny, San Fran, or Az. Tebow gets his chance but probably has short leash will Elway wanting Luck the following year. So somewhere in there , he will get a shot. Didnt really have a chance in Cleveland throwing to no one. Who knows really.

It's waaaaay too easy.

Ryan is very young experience-wise. A few here actually mention him in the group of top-tier QBs. He is definitley not in that group yet.

He's certainly below the top and near-top tiers that include:
Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, Rothlisberger, Romo.

I think his group would include Ryan, E Manning, Flacco, et al.

Ryan's still a baby, NFL-wise. Not sure why fans are (negatively) comparing him to older, more seasoned vets.

If Ryan had been undrafted, he would probably never be mentioned in the same breath with the top QB's. He has yet to finish in the Top 10 passers in any season.
I agree that Ryan is not eite, but I think he was top 10 this year (which does not mean eite..just top 1/3 or so).

He was 9th in passing yards, tied for 6th in passing TDs, and 11th (sandwiched between P Manning and Drew Brees) in passer rating. Add it together and I say that's top 10.

Who do you take out to put Ryan in?
None.
That's a pretty good list right there. The order is debatable but I'd say that is tier one and two.

He was also 26th in yards per attempt. Tied with the Lions' Sean Hill.

Your diggin now percy...but I'll give you credit for that remote stat. Not bad.

People who rip Romo for not being "clutch" are just as worthless as those that rip Manning for only winning one SB

If you're gonna talk about yards, you do need to consider how many times he threw it up to get all those yards.

I almost wish it that Romo get's traded out of here and then goes on to win multiple Super Bowl's while we plug in the great Stephen Mcgee or whoever else we run in here and wallow in NFL hell for years so these Romo bashing idiots would finally realize what we had while he was here. Sadly though those morons would never show their face around here but instead blame Jerry for it.

Sad, no? They can't stand the thought of other QBs being praised. Fox Sports compliments Rodgers and the usual suspects go berserk with jealousy and snide remarks, as if one QB has anything to do with the other. Pity them.

SO aggravating - like the praise of another player has to come at the expense of the Cowboys. These are the wages of discontent...

I one the guys saying he's not elite.

My point was, the main stats for saying if someone is top 10 (besides winning) are usually: Passer rating, Passing yards, and Passing TDs.

The passer rating thing kind of covers the efficiency questions. That's all I was saying--no more, no less.

Matt ryan will have to lose a ton more before he gets tonys rep. Simply put the cowboys equal rating and the media loves to beat up on the cowboys. Outside falcon fans no one gives a crap about atlanta. Now if ryan had been our qb, they would give him that rep after loss one. Prossman

Most already know all they need to know about Quinn. He just is not good enough to be an NFL starter. He is barely good enough to be an NFL #2 backup QB. Dallas did the right thing in 2007 when they traded with Cleveland.
