McClay really hasn’t done a bad job, the issue is Jerry being so dependent upon hitting in the draft. When you dive into draft success across the league you see that it’s just not realistic to hit on enough players to sit out free agency on a regular basis.
If you fill holes in FA prior to the draft you can have the luxury of selecting best player available.

We did not do that and because of it we also ended up with a RB.

Well when you’re surrounded by fraudulent ownership, fraudulent culture, fraudulent clowns masquerading as football players for years on end—that tends to have an effect on their psyche and how one acts.

McClay was great. Now he’s putrid like the rest of this abhorrent and aberrant team.
"fraudulent clowns"

Actually, that the one thing that is not fraudulent in this organization. They are clowns. All of them.

He has found us some gems but he is way overrated. There's just not much he can do with Jerry as the owner.

If there is Talent on someone's practice squad he can find it. And he's good at finding undrafted free agents. We've hit on several of those. The draft before this was not a good one and no team worth their salt is taking a backup tight end in the second round. That's the fourth time we've done that in the past 15 years. No team takes projects, head cases, and thugs in that round either year after year. You do that in the 6th and 7th.

I wouldn't take them, but Jerry would open up death row if he could. I was shocked he didn't sign Michael vick. Absolutely shocked.
amazing to me how many are dumb enough to think he actually makes the picks

If McClay is asked who is the best LT still available he can give you the answer. That does not mean you should draft him. That is Jerry's decision. Not McClays decision.

He has lots of input but I don't think anyone believes he makes the picks. Everyone knows who does that.

Basically I think he gathers all the information from the scouts and presents it to Jerry and then gathers all the information around the league regarding free agents and practice squad players. But we all know who makes the final decision. That's obvious. Look at the score today.

No, Guyton just looks all around bad. He's not going to live up to where he was drafted.

McClay's best days are behind him. Time to move on.
Guyton will.

McClays best days are behind him? He is one of the best in the league at his job. Moving on from him would be a huge mistake.

Sorry, if there is one thing Dallas has going for them it's McClay. Imagine what this team could be without him
We'd be getting blown out in the first round of the playoffs and blown out against every good team out there. Oh wait.

The drafts right after Jimmy could tell you that. We were drafting people who didn't belong in the league, and taking them as high as the first round. It's the main reason we stopped winning Super Bowls.

If you're going to let players Walk The Way We did, you better replace them with equal value at the very least. We were placed them with fast food workers and it caught up to us. You could see it in 1995.

And get a better draft pick as opposed to getting embarrassed every year in the first round? Oh no.
Yes, not making the playoffs is not embarrassing. Not even sure why teams even try to win a SB.

I had enough for this guy - Guyton looks a bust .

Zero playmakers drafted - ZERO - no gamebreakers - nobody’s whose jersey would sell after CD.

This guy is a fraud
Do we really even know what his true duties are?

I agree with you but .... Drafting well gives the opportunity to the Front Office to fill needs with quality free agents to build a solid team. Oh Wait..... Dumb and Dumber are too cheap to do that.

You can defend him all you want you can tell me that Guyton was a project yada yada yada but the fact of the matter is teams in our division, especially the Giants and Washington club are adding players. They’re adding depth running back death wide receiver, depth, tight end, defensive line depth, big players quality players.
We’re still relying on DeMarcus, Lawrence and Ezekiel, Elliott and projects like Tolbert and a couple of wide receivers we got via UDFA.

I’m sick of that garbage get some friggin quality in here.

Like my buddy always tells me back in the day, when Tom was trying to get one run out of Two Tall Jones and crew while the Tuna had a young LT and the crew and Washington was going young. We still had the 70’s front line still out there in the 80’s.
