I agree, either way he's no longer on the team and shouldn't even be in any conversations. The press just has nothing else to write about.
That guy has no room to talk about anyone with the way they've picked and played the past few years.. The entire staff is at fault for all failures and successes.

I'm sure we'll get the "Dak isn't accurate" or the "Tony Romo says Dez is always open" line soon.

Dak did miss some throws to Dez pretty badly last year, and honestly, Dez's athleticism saved Dak from several INT's because he was able to knock the ball away from a defender that appeared set to make the catch.

But the truth is, those stand out more because of how poor those handful of individual throws were, and not because it was a constant theme all season. And last year wasn't the only fall off year. At the end of the day, it's nice to have a receiver who can go up and get a ball like Dez can, but if that is the chief skill of the receiver it isn't even close to enough. Those need to be the over and above plays, whereas consistency is based on sure routes, sure hands and good communication. That has to be the first priority, and the outjumping/outmuscling defenders is the added element that can elevate a player to another level. If the first level isn't there, the element that could otherwise elvete the player to another level becomes much less special.

His words are largely meaningless. The results are all that matters. What happens if the Cowboys passing game struggles again in 2018 and Bryant has a good year on another team?

What we heard from McClay would then be meaningless and probably kind of stupid. The Cowboys should just move on and stand on their decision and not spend the next few weeks trying to justify to anyone who will listen their logic here. Because it's all going to get proven one way or the other in the next 8 months.

Cowboys paid out all his guarantees in the past, so they won't be writing him a check. However, we get docked 8 mil in dead cap from his prorated bonus spread out over the life of his contract(4mil this year and 4 mil next year). Good news is there is no lost cap space next year due to his release being a pre june 1st cut.

Agreed...sort of harsh. Maybe he did, but there’s still no reason to criticize him while he’s looking for another team.

Can't remember a time I have seen this from a FO. They usually follow the silence route with no comments. Not only hasw this FLO been commenting but just short of attacking.

Could be because Dez came out claiming it was one of the captains (Garrett guys) who forced this move. The head of personnel seems to have a different take on why they came to the conclusion of letting Dez go.
