I still don't get why you take an unknown TE from San Diego St over Jordan Reed from the U of Florida.....if they wanted a Safety why take the Cornerback from UCONN instead of the Safety from the U of Alabama?????

Reed was just as big of an unknown. He was QB going into college and moved to TE in a gimmicky college offense. Reed worked out great, but the bigger issue was overvaluing the 12 personnel when more teams have had success running and throwing the ball out of 11 personnel.

You take the best player. You don't care where they come from. Mark Barron as a safety, from Alabama, who was selected higher than Landon Collins...was a bust at safety. Brian Dawkins, from Western Illinois was a great safety.

And we don't use our SS the way the Giants use Collins and Byron is used completely differently than Collins is used. The scheme isn't working.
