Will Newman get tested this year?

I got a feeling that QBs won't have that luxury of throwing to a weak 3rd CB anymore :shush:

It'll be interesting to be how much more teams will be forced to throw in Newman's direction. So, do you think we will be seeing more:

A) Ints
B) Opp TDs
C) Other

once pacman becomes a starter i think he will. pacman is more of a big play threat than newman.

From the title, I thought this was a drug thread.:D

:laugh2: Good one... But then again I thought about the player so it couldn't be.

Back to the original question, Newman probably will see a few passes here and there, I'm sure teams will want to test the likes of Pacman, Jenkins and Scrandrick more so...

Without question-Newman is one of the best, even though he doesn't get much national media attention for it.

He needs to work on his hands though-he has the bad case of dropsies more times than not.

We'll probably see less of everything; teams won't be stupid enough to throw his way and will likely try to attack Henry/Jenkins more. Thus Newman won't have as many chances to get his INT's, etc....

I do see him getting tested more if Pacman is starting with him, I believe that most don't give Pacman the credit he deserves as a CB, let alone the other skills he brings to the table.

If Newman is playing at his usual level, he won't be tested much more than normal, if at all. The "extra" passes that were targeted at Reeves last year (about 20-25 more than if he was targeted an average percentage of the time) will get spread around to the entire secondary and the linebackers, along with more dumpoffs, screens, throwaways and -- hopefully -- coverage sacks. So not having Reeves on the other side might result in Newman being targeted only three or four more times all season than if Reeves was there (and three or four more apiece for Henry, Jones and Jenkins, plus one or two more for Hamlin, Roy, the linebackers, dumpoffs, screens, sacks, etc.).

Then again, if Newman is healthy all season, teams just might target him even less.

Good stuff, guys. This is one of the biggest things I'm intrigued about. That is, how will opposing offenses gameplan against us. If we stay healthy, I really don't see how teams are going to have much success passing against us.

Adam isn't any more of a playmaker than Newman. For some reason Newman gets ragged on for not making plays when he has been pretty good at it for how many times he gets thrown at.

It depends, is Adam more of a threat to take an INT to the house? Absolutely, is he more of a threat to return a punt or a kick? Absolutely. Now will Adam get as many INT's or tackle as many RB's at the second level? Unlikely.

I like the fact of having both on the same team. I just feel Adam is going to be a great addition alongside T-NEW:bow:
