Will Our Offense Come out Sluggish in Game 1?

I hate to say it, but I do believe we'll come out sluggish on offense, because Dak hasn't played in real time against live competition.

I hate when he sits out of preseason games.

I'm not worried about our performance vs. the Giants nearly as much as what happens to our OL after game one is over. Health should be ok for game one. Those after that will quite possibly be affected by health issues after that initial contest. That's very true for every team, however. ;)

We're on tap for a 3 point advantage for that game, so all things being equal, our chances should likely be good enough to win. It'll be intriguing.

I know practice is a help, but nothing is more helpful than going against another opponent. Do you think our offense comes out sluggish in this first game? If so, where may we struggle?

I hope that we don't have any issues, but this offense was not in during the pre-season, as were a lot of starting NFL offenses. Please give your thoughts......
Probably since they haven’t played together under the lights yet.

If we do come out sluggish this could end up a real dogfight that’s going to go down to the fourth quarter. It’s going to be interesting to see how we do against the run and if we can contain Daniel Jones who likes to take off. Mobile QBs have been a nemesis.

We did a good job controlling Jalen hurts

He did some damage with his arm. He had a couple of TDs. Jones is more likely to takeoff and run a lot. He rushed for 79 yards in the first game against us last season.

Agree 100%. However, I think that because we are facing the Giants we will have time to finish strong.

However, If we were facing the Jets game 1 and their defense…..I would say it doesn’t look good
Maybe. Giants have something to prove. Not sure if they got better or if different. They were better than anticipated last year.

Good question.
Lack of preseason playing time by the offensive starters did not seem to effect their performance to open the '21 season.

The same can not be said for last year as they were pathetic.

So I guess we'll hafta wait and see what happens this year.

False start

17-3 Cowboys after the first quarter.

The largest number of points scored in a game #1 by the Cowboys came in 1968 when they beat the Lions 59-13. Both Dan Reeves and Walt Garrison had two TD's each from the 1 yard line. Chuck Howley returned an INT for a TD and, of course, there was the obligatory TD bomb to Bob Hayes from Don Meredith.

I live in New England, it looks like rain thunderstorm Sunday night

Well, we can’t let them do that again

Probably.

I’m expecting rust and fatigue injuries.

Hope I’m wrong, but I see a loss here.

It does every year so I'm not sure why we would expect anything different. I'm not buying this whole new offense crap until I see it. Our offense hasn't changed in 15 years.

I expect a slow start since we haven’t seen any starters on the field. It may come down to a few splash plays to open the game up. Hope the splash plays are made by us. Don’t want to start the season taking a L against a division team.
