AbeBeta;4606264 said:the better question is whether Costa haters would prefer that he continues to suck so that they can be right OR whether they would prefer that he actually improved.

ravidubey;4606266 said:How can any Cowboys fan besides Costa's family not dislike Costa as a starter?
Why would he be any better than last year? He has limited pedigree and proved that poor pedigree to be correct with poor play on the field.
"Improvement" from Costa is inevitable given how bad he was last season. Unfortunately common sense tells us the odds of that level of improvement being enough to make Costa even an average center are not good.
I think people like Costa because they are forced to like him since the GM has given fans no other choice besides Kowalski who may as well be the same guy.
The outside shots worth praying for is that Arkin, Nagy, or Leary might show something after a position switch. Those are guys who have top potential yet fell in the draft because of injury or playing for a small school. But there you've got to factor the Cowboys have already more than filled their longshot quota in Ratliff, Austin, and Romo. Not many late rounders are going to play at a high level, and that's what I want for my team.
Of course he will. Don't be ridiculous.ravidubey;4606275 said:He won't
Risen Star;4606280 said:You're asking the wrong guy. I literally think you could pick up a street free agent who can play better than that bum.

jnday;4606292 said:You're on a roll today. I don't get the hate. Costa was the 30th ranked center last year. If he works real hard, he could move up to 28th. That is what you call hope. Everything will be okay though. We have plenty of CBs.
BraveHeartFan;4606307 said:I'm not a fan of him in the least.
However if he shows improvement I'll gladly acknowledge it and be very happy that he did improve.
Idgit;4606306 said:What makes you leap to such strange conclusions? Rated 30th by what service? And what was the trend? And why is his 'ceiling' 28? What if he improves to 16th best, and you assume your ratings are a perfect system. Is it not ok to have one average starter out of 22?
Give me the above average CBs anytime. It's only in the CZ time-warp that that's even a question fans aren't embarrassed to ask, and only then because Risen Star is playing with you guys and you don't understand that he's not serious when he tries to make the case that the coverage doesn't matter.
