Talk to me about the playoffs. You know, the important games.

Well there's steps you know we had to get through game one game 4 game 8 game 17 you know you want to talk about the playoffs let's get there first and then we can talk about the playoffs you do realize you're skipping steps..

Some of you are inseparable I mean you just want to use Madden and do the double hit I forget used to be a way to skip the regular season typically if you were with the Cowboys it would give you a winning regular season and then you can go right to the playoffs that's not how it works in real life..

Football is a week to week affair just like it's a year to year affair every schedule's different every team is different and we look forward to actually playing the games in a regular season before we hear the insufferable fans tell us how our playoff record is not very good...

Nope we're talking about the first four games of the season and then we can move on from nay we just got our schedule and you're talking about the playoffs get over it man just get over it we watch the games weekly and we don't skip to the playoffs...

Defense
Plenty of game film on how Eberflus defenses are. Unless he and the other new coaches put in some new wrinkles. But there can't be much more new they can do. Teams need to just review Colts and Bears film.

Offense
How much different will the offense really be. How much will be based off of MM / Linehan / Garrett system. We hear every year how it will change, but it never seems it does. Still always predictable.

It will still come down to talent on the field, discipline, and if the players are smart enough to execute the plays efficiently.

Sure Shotty was the OC last year but that was in name only. MM ran the Texas Toast offense which only gave lip service to the running game. Shotty has come out the gate saying that’s going to change.

So I think the Cowboys will have at least a little bit of an advantage early on. They’ll need it for sure.

Funny how WASH had all new everything including a rookie QB and hey reached the NFC Title game, yet DAL probably won't even make the playoffs. They will just use all the excuses in place.

Legit asking because I don't remember, but what was their schedule like last year?

Please stop. Shotty has done nothing in his career to get excited about. He would not have sniffed another HC job. Much like Garrett Jerry is the only guy that would hire him. The best we can hope for is that he can stay out of the way.

1. Nothing materially has changed with the culture
2. I don't have a problem with Shotty, I have a problem with him being another yes-man coach like Garrett and McCarthy.
3. We've had "decent looking teams" that haven't achieved anything and as I stated earlier, nothing has materially changed about the culture of the franchise or how we evaluate talent.

You are never going to convince the Jerry haters to ever think positively.

Second half of the season looks tough.

I think you have to come out of those first four at 3-1 as the back end of the schedule is brutal with 3 games in 11 days around Thanksgiving and some tough 2nd half games.

And that likely means beating the Giants, Bears and Packers because I can't see how they are winning that first game unless Philly is really, really rusty.

Hopefully the team will take 1 game at a time and not look forward to other games.

It could work but at the same time it could also be a weakness we don't know how they're gonna come together I don't like the fact that we're not gonna have time to even ease into the season and figure our identity out so you better hope these coaches are better than last year's coaches that took eight games before they realized Rico was a starter before they realized that our offensive line didn't have the best 5 out there and Zach Martin wasn't at his best that people were not playing well they couldn't even figure that out until almost halfway through the season...

I do believe this coaching staff will be smarter than that I mean they do realize that that's what all these camps are for that's what training camps for that's what preseason for you're supposed to work out all those details before game one not be using the regular season as an experiment to figure out who's the best roster the best starting 22 they had it all wrong for a while...

At the same time I used to argue against the fact that Mike Mccarthy should have been let go after the Green Bay game but after seeing that disaster last year he needed to go we did not need to go into this season with a bunch of lame duck coaches I thought it would inspire them to not lose their job and instead it made them lethargic and lazy and obviously the right thing to do would have been letting them go early but now going with this new staff I love this staff schottenheimer is still a big question mark but his staff looks like a great staff that will be well prepared..

But I'm not going to guess how the seasons going to go I watch it one game at a time and I got to hope that we get healthy quick meaning some of these guys were missing is the only reason I'm really not feeling well on defense with a bunch of guys coming off knee injuries especially at corner but missing overshown I mean he's the X Factor.

So it makes me a little uncomfortable starting out the season with a strong set of opponents and it really doesn't seem to ease up much it's gonna test this staff early and often and maybe that's a good thing there is gonna be no sitting and waiting to get better it's opening up the season and just going for it...

MM was a good coach early in his career but became too enamored with the WCO and didn’t seem capable of pivoting to what wins games in the 21st century.

You can't be serious????? Once our Boys get punched in the mouth, it's all over but the crying and as long as Prescott is our QB, I don't look for any advantages for the Cowboys.........

In recent years, teams could play a single high safety and move the other up to play the run. That’s because they only had to worry about doubling Cee Dee and no one else. I dare teams to double team both Cee Dee and Pickens. Dare them. They can’t because if they do, the running are will be that much better.

Going 2-2 is the best case scenario for those first 4 games.....just based on the veterans on the rosters.

Nobody knows what the rookies on any team will bring yet
