We as Cowboys fans saw something last year that we've not seen in nearly 20 years- a real commitment to the running game.

I've been a big Jason Garrett supporter from day one. He bleeds blue and silver, and I believe he has the organization's best interests at heart, even when it's not the flashy thing to do. Hell, even when it's put him in the hot seat.

That being said, I really didn't see that coming. He's always seemed to be pass heavy.

Boy, wasn't I surprised.

With the recent success we (and to be fair, other teams as well) have shown through leaning on the rushing attack, do you think the NFL could experience a swing back to a more balanced offensive league, rather than an air show?

Do you think the Cowboys stick with the huge commitment to the run next year?

They were forced to lean more on the run while Romo was still recovering, then they realized it was a strength and kept with it. Now that Romo is probably more healthy I kind of expect to see a little more passing being implemented throughout the coming season but I hope we continue to have a dominant run game..

Run to set up the pass. Getting 4-6 yards per rush forces linebackers and safeties to cheat and that allows Romo to play MVP caliber ball.

Not sure they will run as much as last year but I do think they will look to be balanced with the run and pass.

If we want Romo to stay healthy we will... If we want Weeden to play we won't...

The league seems to go through cycles, and I think the running game is making a come back. Several things affect that such as the availability of quality QB's, rules favoring the passing game, and in the Cowboys' case, a less than good defense mandating a reliance on the run game, to name some. I think a number of teams will look at the success the Cowboys had by building a quality OL and putting a quality RB behind them. Unfortunately, I don't think Gurley or Gordon will be available when Dallas picks at 27. I also expect to see a little bit of a run on OL starting in the twenties. That's my long winded way of saying yes, I think the league is shifting back to a more balanced attack.

They will do what they are designed to do and for now, that appears to be running the football.

They're going to do the same thing they did last year....take what the defense gives them.

If teams go 9 men in the box, you better believe we're going to throw the ball 40 times.

We'll be balanced, not run-heavy.

I think we ill be rushing about the same next year...

...but it wont be a one back system anymore it will get spread around and will provide just enough of the same as last year

I agree and believe that is the way Chip is overhauling the Eagles roster (replicating us/SEA). I think they go run heavy with Murray/Matthews in a "real" inside running scheme that wasn't afforded to him with McCoy.

Assuming a RB capable of contributing in a very productive way is drafted, there's no reason to believe the Cowboys' attack will likely turn away from the running game. Considering our strong OL and the plentiful supply of quality RBs entering the draft this year, the ground game should rule for Dallas once again. It's a no-brainer.

What I can't wait to see is the media reaction when McFadden drops 200 and 2 TD's week one.

This team is built to do just as it did last season. The architecture has remained essential the same so where is the case to suggest the philosophy behind it will change? They will do what they do.

Depends on who is playing RB.....................if McFadden is the lead dog, well I don't think it is going to end well..................if AP, we might just be in the SB.

Wrong, AP being in the mix has no bearing on their already established framework. AP would be a great help but the run game will continue to be implemented as it was last season without without AP just as it will be with or without Demarco Murray.

I expect it to scale back a bit. I wouldnt mind if the season long mix was close to 50-50. Onviously situation will dictate. Im hoping to see a lot of running between the tackles in the 4th quarters of games.
